Based on show producer Eric Haney's book, Inside Delta Force: The Story of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit, The Unit was created for television by David Mamet. The Unit is a U.S. Army organization similar to Delta Force. As with Delta Force, its members come from the United States Army and appear to be primarily tasked with counterterrorism.
The Unit deploys throughout the world, and both the Army and United States government have the ability to deny the existence of the Unit and any of its members in order to prevent the onset of international incidents. Their uniforms are commonly not standard Army issue, which makes it easier to deny their connection with the US Army if killed or captured. (read more)

Season 4 Episode Guide
- 4x01 Sacrifice
- After completing a five month long assignment, the team is called upon to stop an assassination plot targeting the president-elect and vice president-elect. The situation raises suspicion among high-level government officials.
- 4x02 Sudden Flight
- The team is tailing an important scientist en route from Argentina to South Africa on a commercial flight when unidentified hijackers take over. Meanwhile, Kim and Bob's baby is ill, while the spouses continue their adjustment to their new lives.
- 4x03 Sex Trade
- While the team is in Kosovo negotiating the purchase of weapons-grade plutonium, Jonas discovers aspiring models forced into prostitution. At home, Kim starts her cover job as an in-home nanny and Tiffy as a teacher at the local school.
- 4x04 The Conduit
- Bob is held hostage by a drug cartel after he poses as a chemist who can turn cocaine into paint for easy smuggling. Meanwhile, Mack penetrates the group posing as a prize fighter in an illegal betting ring to help bring them down.
- 4x05 Dancing Lessons
- A nuclear scientist insists on making a deal with the team before revealing information about an imminent terrorist attack on a major U.S. city; Kim, Molly and Tiffy are asked to work under cover with Jonas.
- 4x06 Inquisition
- Hoping to con a terrorist into exposing his accomplices before they escape, the team produces phony evidence of an attack.
- 4x07 Into Hell, Part 1
- Part 1 of 2. Jonas' daughter, Betsy, is kidnapped in Iraq, and Jonas and the team go in to rescue her. When they arrive, they learn she has been taken into Syria and that crossing the border is forbidden by the U.S. military because to do so is an act of war.
- 4x08 Into Hell, Part 2
- Jonas and the team attempt to rescue Jonas' daughter, Betsy, from her Syrian kidnappers, who now also hold Col. Ryan. Back at home, Molly is summoned to Washington, D.C., to meet with a government psychologist.
- 4x09 Shadow Riders
- Jonas and his team attempt to keep a truce intact between two warring Afghanistan tribes by delivering a bride to her groom, but it requires going through enemy territory. Back at home, Bob and Kim try to expose a man who may be linked to terrorists.

Asking me to pick just one favorite among so many is like asking me to choose my favorite kid. I love them all! But if I had to pick just one, I gotta go with Mack. love the un-even temperament about him. It's going to be an exciting season! Can hardly wait to see what happens with him and the Col over Tiffy.

Hey, Jack. There's a new show in town. Did you guys find yourselves comparing The Unit to 24 last night? I did. The unit operators are a clandestine Black Ops unit and they rarely work in open battlefields, they deal far more with CQCB, anti-terrorism operations and espionage. In terms of their level of combat skill and experience they are equal imo.
Here's the ultimate question: In terms of the organizations, which do you think is more bad ass?

Jack Bauer/24 I love, don't get me wrong, but the Unit by far is more believable, plus, the Unit doesn't torture people, which is nice. I love the Unit!! They always cancel the good ones...

the unit forever its a fantastic show....cant believe the tv exec's in CBS have decided to can the show after they started shooting into season 5,do they not know a good thing when they have it ??!!!!........BRING BACK THE UNIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....will they come across another bomb in Atlanta like in Morale, Welfare and Recreation and find a way to diffuse it ?!! might never know now......

- So wheres the links then so you scoured the web to find us just the cbs official website. Errr I could of found that but seeing as I live outside the US its no good, this site is a waste of time and misleading trying to make out it will give you access to things it cant give you access too utter rubbish. Hopefully just like the giant squid o you will soon be extinct as there are sites out there surf the channel that do allow you to watch episodes not just sucker you in with false promises....!
