They say nothing in life is free but thanks to the improvement of technology, there is something you can get for free. You can now watch movies online for free.

It's never been easier to download movies for free provided you have a good internet connection.

There are numerous websites which provide this service and I will list them for you. But please be advise of the danger associated with downloading freely distributed movies and I will cover this as well.

What do I mean when I say not all free things are the same?

Some websites offer free legitimate movies for download that are free from piracy and copyright laws. There's no hidden cost or fees to register or get access to their movie archives. Most of the selections you'll see are old movie classics, documentaries, foreign films, and even some hit movies that were recently release within the last few years. These movies are legal for you to download and burn to disc.

The legitimate websites are usually harder to find but I will list some for you. Try doing a free movie download search for these sites and it'll take you hours to get pass all the phony "free movie download sites." They are very easy to spot. They advertise free downloads but first you have to pay an access fee to join. I would hardly consider that free.

Other websites however will offer you free download of the latest movies and even movies that are currently showing in the theaters. There's no cost what so ever to download them. This is a dream come true for most people discovering these sites.

There are dangers of course when downloading from these questionable sites.

The first is obvious of course which pertain to legal problems for downloading pirated and bootleg movies. Remember the early days of Napster, when companies began suing people for downloading illegal copies of their music? Can this happen to you for downloading movies? Although this may seem highly improbable the risks still exist. We still occasionally see news article about companies suing those who illegally download.

To avoid any legal problems it's important to download movies that are free from piracy or copyright.

The second danger is not so obvious to some people. Some of the movies you download may contain viruses or spywares embedded in them. Some of these viruses have the potential of ruining your system. Trust me when I say it's no fun to spend the entire day reformatting your system and re-installing all your programs just because you were dying to see a movie.

I will list some of these questionable sites for you as well, but download at your own risk.
