Yes you can reduce your consumption of gasoline for your car or truck by installing a simple (do-it-yourself) conversion kit. There are hundreds of companies that sell information and kits to do this. One of the top selling companies is Water4Gas.
What you do is install a small container under your hood that will supply the water. You put water and a catalyst like baking soda into the container. The device connects to your battery via the ignition switch; it uses very little energy. In the process called electrolysis, electrical current is passed through the water. This creates a gas called HHO gas that gets fed into the intake manifold of your engine. So the system is using the water to produce an ongoing supply of the HHO gas which is then sucked into the engine and is used to supplement the normal supply of gasoline. The HHO gas greatly improves combustion which in turn increases your miles per gallon. very interesting article I enjoyed reading it.
Not too sure how the US government will take to this. If it starts to get popular in the UK Gordon Brown and his corrupt Labour party will start charging tax on water too.
