The Water Powered Car and Its Self Procalimed Inventor.. the Late Stanley Meyers... Fact or Fiction?
For obvious reason (the high prices at the pump) I have recently become interested in this somewhat "controversial" technology. Although I don't claim to be the top expert, I have done a bit of research and will gladly share some of the information here on this Lens. If you don't know who the late Stan Meyers is, please read on. Quite an interesting fellow who claimed to have developed a dune buggy that ran ENTIRELY on water. Stan passed away in 1998 and a lot of the steam that his invention was beginning to build (no pun intended) died with him.
It's "controversial" for a couple of reasons;
The first, being the mystery surrounding his death leaves much room for the conspiracy theorists to sink their teeth into. Is it possible that his technology was so earth-shattering that he was murdered? Read the info below and explore the links to decide for yourself.
Secondly, again for obvious reasons, there is a lot of buzz about an easy to install conversion kit that you can install on your car or truck to make your gas guzzler run as a hybrid that uses a mixture of gas and water to move on down the road, while some claim to double your fuel mileage or evan as much as 200%. Is 60-70 mpg out of your current 20 mpg oversized SUV even possible? How much does one have to pay for something like that? Does it work? All of these questions will be explored and hopefully will provide some needed information to the average person who is beginning to explore this for themselves.

"Whenever new technology comes into existence, there is a great resistance to it, because it can effect a lot of economic factors. In this particular case... with the United States..., we pay out roughly $200 Billion per year on foreign oil. It's quite obvious that the Arabs would pay $200 Billion to try to keep this technology out of the economy."

Stanley Meyers, the inventor of the first 100% water powered car (that we know of anyway) was having dinner at a restaurant. The story goes,(10 years ago) that he jumped up from dinner exclaiming that he had been poisoned, ran into the street, collapsed and died. Much of the momentum he had on getting his water powered car to market.. unfortunately died with him.
