Water Filtration Systems Review

Let's take a look at how filtration systems are used and under which circumstances you would choose to use one.  Filtration systems can be as encompassing as those which filter all the water in your house or as small and convenient as a water bottle filter.  Which method you choose depends upon your needs and the needs of your family.

1.            Water Bottle Filter: A water bottle filtration system is a water bottle that has a carbon filament filter.  It works well to filter out municipal water, such as water from the tap.  It wouldn't be good for the use of drinking water from streams or other unknown sources.

2.            Sink Filters: A sink filtration system like the aquasana aq4000 is attached to the tap either above the counter or below the counter and can contain a variety of filtration systems.  These filters work for a single sink and many are protective against a variety of chemicals and pathogenic organisms. Those systems that attach to your faucet directly tend to have smaller, less-effective filtration systems, while those that fit under the sink or on the countertop generally offer broader filtration capabilities. 

3.            Shower Filter: The shower filtration system is attached to the outlet of the shower and provides protection for you when you shower.  Showering brings a great deal of water into contact with your skin.  The skin can absorb many chemicals, which makes having a shower filter very important.

4.            Whole House Filter:  A whole house filter like the Aquasana Rhino, is able to filter water from its entrance into the home.  The filter is able to effectively deliver clean, filtered water to every source within the home.  Like everything in water filtration, the filter eventually needs to be changed at recommended periods of time.
