Help Make a Difference

We believe that NO child, NO fellow human being, should die from dehydration or diseases related to contaminated water and lack of sanitation.  We can do something for these children and their families.  We can give them a voice to make others aware of their plight while helping them to meet their basic need for clean water and sanitation.  We can create the change and be the catalyst for a better tomorrow for these children and their families.  We can, and will, help to restore their hope and dignity.

To do our part in saving lives, we extend our hand in assistance and love to the world.  In honor of the United Nations International Decade of Water for Life (2005 - 2015), and World Water Day (March 22, 2007), we have developed a "Watering The World With Love" fundraiser to accomplish the following objectives:

Support WaterAid America and the UNDP (United Nations Development Program) "At Least 20" Program through financial contributions from our Vita Genesis, Inc. fundraising program.  As an incentive, we offer free "thank you" gifts to those who contribute to this effort.  Our "Watering The World With Love" fundraiser begins immediately and will run through March 22, 2007 (World Water Day).  Funds from our World Water Day efforts will be sent to WaterAid America and the UNDP "At Least 20" Program.

Dedicated To Women and Daughters Worldwide

Many women and children in developing countries spend hours each day walking miles to collect drinking and cooking water. The weight of water that women in Africa and Asia carry on their heads is commonly 44 pounds (20kg). This water is usually dirty and unsafe, but they have no alternative.

Carrying heavy water containers is an exhausting task, which takes up valuable time and energy and results in physical stress on the neck and back. Having to transport water for hours each day prevents women from performing vital domestic chores or income generating work, and stops children from going to school. 40 billion working hours are spent carrying water each year in Africa . (Cosgrove and Rijsberman 1998)

Where there is no place safe and clean to go to the toilet because of lack of water and sanitation, people are exposed to disease, lack of privacy, and indignity. In many cultures women who have no access to a latrine must wait until it is dark to go to the toilet or have to walk long distances to find an isolated spot. Where there are no toilets girls are prevented from going to school. 11% more girls in third world countries can attend school when basic sanitation is available. (DFID)
