Waterscaping

Waterscaping is a booming market in the US.  This lens will attempt to give you the best information you can get on the net.  From plants, to construction, to accessories, make sure you get the best.  Whether you need a large garden pond, or a small indoor water feature, make sure you make an informed decision.

When deciding on an installer for your pond, make sure you get a specialist.  Look at their business card or other signage.  How many other 'specialties' are listed before ponds and waterfalls?  I know there are plenty of quality handy men that do everything, and plenty of plumbers that could re-wire a house.  But wouldn't you rather have an experienced electrician do your work?

There are so many quality water feature specialists out there, but how do you find them?  The NAPP has a membership listing that includes a lot of them, and the best of the best in the nation.  If you don't live around any of these individuals, check for references from these members, or other national memberships.

There are many other tips, but there just isn't enough room in an introduction for all of them.  One other tip I would suggest is be creative and make the feature yours.  Look at other features they have put in.  If they all look alike, do you really want the standard?  With this in mind, I would suggest staying away from the Aquascapes line.  This is the 'WalMart' of ponds.  Yes you get a deal at WalMart, but is there anything unique at that store?  Creativity is limited when 'kits' are used, and often these are installers that are in it for the money.  Yes all businesses must make a profit to survive, but there is a difference between WalMart profits stratagies and independent contractors.  Just a suggestion.
