Don't live near the beach? Miss the waves? I do too. So I've compiled links to some of my favorite webcams at the beach. They are sorted by areas of the country and bodies of water.
It doesn't matter if it's night where you are, somewhere in the world, there's sun shining down on a beach and that beach has a webcam.
There is a link further down the page that can help you figure out instantly where the sun is shining anytime anywhere.
If you're looking for a nice picture book of beaches, lighthouses, shells, sea birds, you can find them all here at this lens.
Then there's the movies that get filmed at the beach - usually a beautiful one. With the exception of Castaway, Jaws, and Gilligan's Island, you can find them here at this lens.

Beach Memories
Come with me on a trip to the beach!
Some of my fondest childhood memories are of the beaches in Massachusetts.
There was so much anticipation walking from the car to the beach - getting the first glimpse of the ocean, seeing how high (or how low) the tide was, guessing at how cold the water was, and finding the perfect spot to settle down.
Once there, we would challenge each other to see who could go all the way in the water first. You have to understand that even in August, the water there was maybe 60 degrees farenheit.
Entertainment was simple but predictable. For example, draw a line in the sand and see if the next wave reaches it or goes past it. See how long you can stand on Barnacle Rock. Build a dam with sand to keep the tide from coming in. Dig a hole to figure out how far you have to dig before it starts stinking.
So now, here I am, living 200 miles away from a beach, hoping that someday I'll be able to have that beach home with the covered back porch and the widow's walk. Thankfully, I have internet access and others have webcams so from my sand-free house I can check out the conditions at just about any beach around the world.

Their site is very easy to navigate - you don't have to keep hunting for "web cam" in teensy weensy print. Just click on the name of a beach and you brought right to it.
