Waverly Hills Sanatorium is described as "one of the scariest places on Earth" because of its intense haunting activity. This past June, the sanatorium was the subject of an 83-minute documentary, which premiered Sci-Fi Channel. The four-story, 506-room hospital was opened in 1926 during a severe tuberculosis outbreak. Thousands of patients were treated here, many of them carted through the 500+ "death tunnel" when the disease overcame them. This tunnel has become a focal point for filmmakers.

I decided to create a lens about Waverly Hills because it is still one of the most popular search terms for my Supernatural blog, two months after that documentary aired. As of that time, I couldn't find much about the subject except for links to various historical sites (see link list below). Today, I found pictures and videos!

I've posted them below and plan to add to this collection as I find more information, pics, and video. If you've been to Waverly Hills Sanatorium, please let me know by commenting in the Guest Book or sending me an email at deborah{dot}woehr{at}gmail{dot}com. I'd like to collect stories of those who have been there and display them on this lens.

Thank you!

Deborah

Jay Gravatte:

My job on that night was simple -- take five girls through Waverly Hills for the Fox's "reality" series. My main duty was to explain to them some of the history and paranormal activity surrounding the abandoned hospital. Everything we encountered was to be recorded and broadcast as an episode of the show but what occurred that night was anything but simple.

Deborah..I have a great story on how I found this blog.I was at Waverly Hills on Memorial Day weekend of this year 2009 with a group. We rented out waverly for a whole evening.
I caugght 8 evps. My friend Tom also caught an evp.
My evp was on the 2nd floor balcony at 1:30am..his was on the 3rd floor at 11:30 pm..
We both got a mans voice that says"Squidoo"..After I got home, I did a web search on Waverly Hills for any new evidence/evps that are more recent.
HOW STRANGE THAT OUR SEPARATE EVPS SAY"SQUIDOO" AND MY nAME IS DEBRA ALSO.
    WE ARE ALL Connected.Kewl.

I have seen many films of Waverly Hills and I'm going there next month ( June ) for a tour. I plan to take digital video and stills. Years ago, I worked in a very haunted house and I was harassed and terrified constantly by disembodied voices and loud noises all night long. I'm pretty
sure I will experience something at Waverly, I'll post my visit here.
