A Short Biography Of Waylon Jennings
Waylon Jennings from Wikipedia
Waylon Arnold Jennings (June 15, 1937 - February 13, 2002) was an American country music singer and musician. A self-taught guitar player, he rose to prominence as a bass player for Buddy Holly following the break-up of The Crickets. He escaped death in the February 3, 1959 plane crash that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. "Country music isn't a guitar, it isn't a banjo, it isn't a melody, it isn't a lyric. It's a feeling."

As one of the original "outlaw" country music stars, Jennings (b. 1937) has done his best to live up to the image of the hard-living honky-tonker who doesn't take crap from anybody. With the help of writer and rock guitarist Kaye, an older, calmer, drug-free Jennings now relates his life story, from his childhood in a dirt-floored house in West Texas, through his busted marriages and hard-partying days, to his current existence as happily married man (to country star Jessi Colter) and member of the Highwaymen, the country music supergroup made up of Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. The narration reads as if Jennings is relating stories over a beer.
The Old Dogs
...from Wikipedia

The Old Dogs was a country supergroup, composed of the independently famous Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis, Bobby Bare, and Jerry Reed. They released one two disc album together, talking about age's effect on the music industry.

Waylon Jennings Duet Debate
Waylon Jennings has done duets with many of the major players in country music. Two of the most famous of which are probably Hank Williams Jr and Willie Nelson. Of these two superstars, who do you like him singing with better? (If you're not sure, there is a video sample above and below this module to remind you how awesome he sounds with them both!)

- Great lens on one of my favorites. I love most of his songs but there is just something about "Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line".

- Excellent lens. Waylon is/was one of my all time favorite performers. My sister in law & I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert in Fort Myers, FL years ago. We were at front, center stage, right in front of him. My sister in law was shaking & trying to get a good picture of him. He stopped right in the middle of his song & looked at us both & told us, "Honey, take the picture, I don't get any better looking than this!". This of course was before digital cameras. We took the film to be developed & never received the photos. So someone got some "OUR" pictures of Waylon. We were told the photos either didn't turn out or were lost. Either way we didn't get our pictures but we still have that memory of him. Thank you again for reminding me of that memorable night.
