There are many ways for teens to earn money

There are many reasons why a teenager would want to make money. No matter the reason, there are many jobs available almost specifically for teens. Although many may be seasonal, there is something to do year round.

Even if you aren't into manual labor, there is still something for you.

Ways for Teens to Make Money

If you are a teen, you want to start saving up for college, a new car, or maybe just want a few extra dollars to bring a date to the movies. No matter what the reason, you want some cash.

Well, you are in luck. There are many ways a teen can make money, even in a poor economy.

List of ways a teen can make money

  • Mow yards - One of the easiest ways to make money is by mowing lawns. If you live near an elderly person, chances are they need help doing some tasks, such as mowing their lawn.
  • Tutor - Many schools offer students the chance to tutor and pay fairly well.
  • Make a website - One of the harder ways is to make money online, although well worth it in some cases.
  • Babysit - Although this is historically a female occupation, even males can take on the duty of taking care of children when their parents are away.
  • Have a car wash - Although it may not pay much, you can make some quick cash by holding a car wash on the weekend.
  • Be an animal sitter - When families are away for a long period of time, they may need someone to take care of their pets. They will be more than happy to pay someone to take care of them instead of leaving them in a kennel.
  • Shovel snow - Everyone in colder climates love it when there is snow on the ground and their driveway cleared before they head out to work.
  • Get a paper route - One of the traditional adolescent jobs.
  • Be a dish washer - Some countries and states allow restaurants to hire people as young as 14 to wash dishes.
  • Wash windows - Another 'once in a great while' type occupations, although well worth it for quick cash.
  • Paint fences - Is the neighbors fence getting a little dull? Offer to paint it for a price, of course.
  • Give swimming lessons - Most cities offer teenagers the ability to teach swimming lessons every summer.
  • Repair computers - Are you a computer wiz?
  • Teach the elderly how to use computers - Many elderly want to learn how to use PCs and the internet. It is a great time to get out there and educate!
  • Rake leaves - Another seasonal occupation, but well worth it.

Conclusion

There are many ways for teens to earn money. And although many are seasonal, there is always something to do year round.

In the spring and summer mow lawns, in the fall rake leaves, and in the winter shovel snow. There is nothing to lose!

So if you are a teen and you want to start earning some cash, get out there and get one of the many jobs available just for you.
