Ways To Get Pregnant

Here's One Of The Ways To Get Pregnant...

There are many different tips and strategies that can offer you new ideas on ways to get pregnant...I'm going to focus on one in this article.

Cervical fluid is a very important component when you are trying to get pregnant. For one thing, your cervical fluid (or mucus), changes in texture throughout your monthly cycle, and this is very important to follow. When the cervical fluid begins to turn clear and very stretchy--similar to raw eggwhites--this is a sign that you are about to ovulate very soon. What does that mean?? It means you better get to the "baby dance" in a hurry. You should be timing intercourse for several days leading up to and including the day of ovulation. But more about that later--back to the cervical fluid..

Sperm can live for a pretty long time--possibly as long as six days if the environment is right. What that means is that if you have intercourse as many as 5 or 6 days before you ovulate, you can still get pregnant as long as the sperm are staying alive inside you. And how do they do that? With good quality cervical fluid, of course! By the way, the egg only lives 12-24 hours after it is released, so it really is important to have the sperm ready and waiting when you actually ovulate.

So how do you ensure that you have good quality cervical fluid? Well, since you're looking for ways to get pregnant, you might need some tips on improving your cervical fluid. There are several.

Drink water--lot's of it. At least 8 glasses a day can do wonders in improving your cervical fluid.

Eat baby carrots--lot's of them too. Because of the vitamin A in the baby carrots (beta carotene), it has been known to really improve the amount and quality of your cervical fluid.

Take plain Robitussin. The kind with nothing extra in it, ie. no extra letters on the box, such as DM. Just plain Robitussin. The same way that it loosens up your mucus when you have a cough, it also thins the mucus in other parts of your body.

OK, if you do those three things, you should have more than adequate cervical fluid which should keep those little swimmers alive for days.

Should You Eat Fish When Trying To Get Pregnant?

It is extremely important to eat right when you are trying to conceive. The reason is that you don't actually find out that you're pregnant until the embryo has already been developing for at least a couple of weeks. You wouldn't want to expose the embryo to anything toxic in the first two weeks of development. Mercury can get stored up in your bloodstream from too much consumption, and then passed on to the developing baby. Too much mercury can effect the nervous system of an unborn baby.

In March 2004, new guidelines on how women who are trying to conceive, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and young children can limit their exposure to mercury in fish. They now advise eating no more than 6 ounces (about one serving) of canned albacore or "white" tuna a week.

According to the FDA/EPA guidelines, you should also limit yourself to 12 ounces a week (about two servings) of canned "light" tuna and other cooked fish. And you should completely avoid shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tile fish (also called golden or white snapper), tuna steaks (fresh or frozen), orange roughy, Spanish mackerel, marlin, and grouper because these fish contain the highest levels of mercury.

However, it would be wrong to think it's best to just avoid fish altogether, as fish is loaded with protein, vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids -- all of which are an important part of a healthy diet. There are plenty of other varieties -- salmon, rainbow trout, and canned mackerel, for instance -- that contain low levels of mercury and are high in healthy fats.

So remember, eating fish is a great addition to a healthy diet which is so important when you are trying to get pregnant...just remember to avoid the high mercury varieties until after the baby is born.
