I will be sharing with you some tips and ideas that I used to help us through the really tough times and where to go to receive the help that we all need in times like this. To finally receive the debt relief we all desire.

Credit Card Debt

The Biggest Debt Blunder Is Your Credit Card Debt

First and foremost is the misconception by many Americans today that in order to be able to finance anything today, one must have a good credit history? But, credit card debt is not the way to go!

I say that is nothing but pure and simple hog wash! Yes, we have ALL been led to believe that in order to be able to purchase a car, home or other luxury is that we must have a good credit history or score. That is exactly what big business wants us to believe and unfortunately, the politicians have done little to prevent this. And are they trying to help us figure out ways to pay off debt?

That's what helps keep the economy going? Stupid, are we? If people would learn from the get go to save and purchase with cash, we would not have the housing crises we are facing, plus the financial fall outs with credit card debt and such, would not be happening today. But, the credit card companies are not going to help you find ways to pay off debt, they just want their money!

Since most of us today cannot pay for cars and homes with cash because of the prices, what are we to do? First off, in dealing with credit card debt. Do not, and I mean do not acquire one or if you have any, get rid of them! That is the biggest scam there is today. Interest rates are at all time lows but, the credit card companies are charging you anywhere from 12 to 28% interest? Do the numbers.

If you feel you need a credit card to rent cars, hotel rooms and such. Get a debit card from your bank or credit union you do business with. That way, you will only spend the money that you can afford and still have the same benefits that come with a credit card. That was tip number one to controlling your credit card debt. I will add to this credit card debt section as we go.

Okay, I have had many people ask me,what is the best way to pay off debt, especially, credit card debt. One of the best ways is to list your debts from smallest to largest debt owed. Then start attacking the smallest debt with a vengeance. Take any and all spare money and apply it to that debt first, while trying to keep your others current by paying the minimum. If you don't have enough money to do that, just concentrate on the smallest until you pay off that one. Then, what ever money you have saved from paying that one off, apply it to the next one and so on. It's called a debt snowball. We will continue with ways to pay off debt as we go, including credit card debt.

One of the biggest problems with the accumulation of debt is and has always been the credit card! Yea, I am picking on the credit card companies again. The credit card allows you to practically go out and buy whatever you want, when you want it, as long as you stay within the limit! You don't feel the pain until you owe so much more than you can afford that you just can't seem to get out of this hole!

But, this also applies to small signature loans, appliance loans, (which are really high interest rates) and the like. When concentrating on paying off debt, first an foremost is don't borrow!

You must train yourself to never ever fall for those low, low prices on that new dress, boat, jet ski, diamond bracelet and all the toys that you do not NEED!
