Help solve humanitarian problems and make a difference to the world

World Community Grid's mission is to create the largest public computing grid benefiting humanity. Help solve some of humanity's biggest problems including AIDS, cancer, natural disasters and hunger!

It's easy, safe and free and all it takes is your computer and less than 10 minutes of your time. When you're not using your computer, you can donate idle time on your computer to non-profit research projects focused on benefiting humanity.

Hundreds of thousands of volunteers around the globe donate the spare processing power of their personal computers to help.

More participants enables World Community Grid complete more research on these promising humanitarian projects, reducing time needed for research from years to months.

How does it work?

Large research projects are broken into millions of small work units. Your computer lends a hand by helping process those small pieces of research.

All you need to do is download a small, safe & secure program onto your computer. While there is space processing capacity on your computer, the software helps complete this critical research.

Choose research projects

The World Community Grid allows you dedicate your idle PC time to only one project or to spread the idle PC time across several projects.

Join a team!

Once you have joined the World Community Grid, you can join a team.

Joining a team is fun! Your team can compete with other teams for number of members on a team, total run time, points, and results returned. This helps to shorten the time it takes to complete projects for humanitarian good.

Here are some Australian teams you can join (or you can start your own)...

We need more Macquarie Uni team members!
