Wealthy Affiliate is an online membership site that teaches you how to make money online using a variety of techniques. Most methods include ways to make money online without spending a cent but it also extensively teaches pay per click techniques and using landing pages to make money online.

The Second Week of Wealthy Affiliate University
As we got into week 2 things seemed less overwhelming and we were able to navigate the site quite easily. We were already adding posts to the forum and generally getting the hang of where everything was and what sorts of features were available.

Wealthy Affiliate University - 23 June 2008
Week 2 has finally arrived and I have been given access to the new plan for the week. The areas covered this week will include:
- Learn how internet marketing really works
- Top Affiliate Networks
- How Affiliate Links work
- Independent Affiliate Programs
- Different types of marketing including free and paid techniques
- What you should choose - free or paid?
- How to choose an industry to promote
- Understanding the sales process
- Article Marketing
- Squidoo
As you can see it is pretty indepth.
The tasks for this week include:
- Claim your free $50 Yahoo Search Marketing advertising credit & setup a YSM account
- Setup a Google Adwords account
- Join Squidoo.com (or another article engine)
- Research potential markets & article writing ideas
- Write your first article
- Familiarize yourself with your Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing accounts
Of course, the eight week plan doesn't have to be followed exactly. There is no one hitting you with a big stick if you don't do the work. Also, if you already know some of it then you can just skip past it.
In actual fact, you don't need to follow the eight week plan at all if you don't want. All of the info you could ever want is in the Wealthy Affiliate Program website - it's just that the eight week plan takes you through in a logical progression and it is particularly worthwhile to progress through the steps in the set manner if you are new to it all.

Today I have just checked my ranking on Squidoo for our Wealthy Affiliate University Review lens. It is currently ranked at #269 in the SEO category and #9632 overall. This is only within 1 week mind you. Will be interesting to see how it develops.
I am going to delve a little more deeply into the Wealthy Affiliate Learning Centre today as there is a lot of information I want to get through.
I am also finding the forum to be one of the best places to get information. People who have completed the 8 weeks seem to be more than happy to share their tips.

Wealthy Affiliate University - 25 June 2008
Today a message has appeared on the dashboard which is getting everyone all excited. There is going to be some sort of update to the Wealthy Affiliate University. This is what it says:
"The update is a two-fold system that will lay the groundwork for an explosion in the Wealthy Affiliate community...We've created a brand new way to make money online.. You are going to earn your money by just being a part of the Wealthy Affiliate community."
Looking forward to seeing what it's all about as the information is pretty sketchy at the moment.

Wealthy Affiliate University - 26 June 2008
Everyone is getting pretty excited in the Wealthy Affiliate forum after the announcement yesterday. We are all waiting expectantly to see what is going to be revealed in early July.
In the meantime I am going to head back into the site later today to work on the Rapid Writer tool. This allows you to 'spin' articles. I will research it today and write about it in the Features section on our main Wealthy Affiliate Review page.

Summary of Week 2
This week I spent time reading more of the forum which I am finding is a great resource on the Wealthy Affiliate website.
I also created a product review landing page using one of the free web templates available on the site. I wrote three reviews for similar products and and then created an Adwords account. That is progressing along nicely but I chose a really competitive range of keywords...and I mean really competitive. So my next step is to find less competitive keywords and use those in my Adwords campaign.
I have also followed some of the techniques for optimizing Squidoo lenses and it has paid off. Our main Wealthy Affiliate Review lens is now ranked at #193 under SEO after less than 2 weeks. Each day the ranking improves. Still have a lot more work getting it ranking in Google and driving more traffic to the lens.
I also want to start getting into Article Marketing to see how that goes.
