I had learnt a bit by lurking in various forums, but still couldn't put the pieces of the jigsaw together. I realized that Wealthy Affiliate was a one-stop shop, an online university in Internet Marketing and Affiliate Marketing, an affiliate program, plus more, all rolled into one!

To me, Affiliate Marketing is like the old tow-truck drivers "spotters fee" deal. This maybe only an Australian-ism, I'm not sure. But anyway...

How this works is quite simple. You search around for "affiliate programs" or "affiliate" networks and sign up with the ones you like. You might want to do some research first,to help you decide what kind of products or services you would like to (help) promote over the internet.

When you choose a product to promote, you are given a special coded link with which you send people to click on. I will discuss how later in this lens. The aim is to get people to click through your link, and hopefully make a purchase. If this happens, the merchant (seller) gets a sale, and you get a commission. You haven't had to worry about stock, inventory, overheads, or any of the traditional kinds of concerns. Your job is simply to get people to click on your links. You don't sell...you pre-sell.

Can You Point and Click? You Can Now Build Websites 

Introducing Site Rubix

I'll be the first to admit I'm not a very technical person, and barely even know html code...but the basics are pretty easy to learn. Even saying that, I was completely overwhelmed by the idea of building my own website, even if there are 15 year-olds who can!

Not long into my membership with Wealthy Affiliate, they released their new "drag & click" website builder, about as easy as Squidoo to use. I have now been able to create a simple one page website (also known as a landing page), and I am working on another multi-page website on a hobby of mine. The forum is very friendly as I touched on before, and you will be surprised and delighted by what you learn there.

So How The Heck Do I Promote Those "Special Affiliate Links"? 

I Thought You'd Never Ask

This is kinda where the real fun begins! Basically, there are 2 main ways to promote those links I spoke about earlier. The first way is the "free" way, by this I mean cash-free. You need to sacrifice a bit of time to get these methods rolling. But once you do, they will have a snowball rolling down a mountain effect. Feel me? Good.

An extremely popular free method right now is writing articles and submitting them to article directory sites. The aim is to entice the reader to click on your links either in the article, or in the author "bio" (biography) box.

Wealthy Affiliate have introduced a tool called Rapid Writer. This tool lets you "spin" (regurgitate) your articles into new articles, so you don't have 100s or 1000s of duplicate articles out there. Great if you are not confident with your writing skills.

I am a logical person, so for me, having all the Wealthy Affiliate info laid out for me in a logical sequence was brilliant. This kept any overwhelm at bay, as it had me focused on doing certain tasks, week by week.

Of course, if you do feel like it's information overload, there is a huge blue PANIC button on the left hand side of the screen!

Whilst there is a LOT of information to learn and absorb, remember that it is like eating an elephant. You just have to take one bite at a time.

Have you ever wondered just what people are surfing and searching for online everyday? Surely knowing this information would make it easier to find markets to promote to, and products to promote? It sure does! Wealthy Affiliate provide so many tools my mind still boggles. In case you don't know, a "keyword" or "keyphrase" is what word/s a user is putting into a search engine, like Google.

Researching your market, your audience and your product is crucial in Internet Marketing. Wealthy Affiliate tools include a keyword research tool, a keyword generator tool, a clickbank research tool, an Adwords tool and a spy tool.

I won't fuzz your head up by going into detail with them, just know they are all important and very useful in one's Internet Marketing endeavors. Not to mention they are time-saving too!

There is a saying over in the forum at Wealthy Affiliate - Don't re-invent the wheel, follow it! So yes, Wealthy Affiliate DO help with this - they have generously provided members with keyword lists in a broad range of industries and markets.

In fact, just this last week, Kyle and Carson gave us members complete access into one of their million dollar campaigns, complete with keywords, a product, feeder websites (ones they have created, you just promote them with your special affiliate links already embedded in them), and more. Amazing, and so very generous.

Wealthy Affiliate Jobs & WA Spaces

Wealthy Affiliate Jobs is where you go to either outsource some tasks you either can't do or haven't the time/inclination to, or you go there to post your services available (for a fee of course).

This is a great way to earn some money to finance those paid campaigns. You will learn how to create paid campaigns inside Wealthy Affiliate. They are called PPC (Pay Per Click) if you are using Adwords which is owned and run by Google. These ads are the ones you see on the right of the screen after you do a google search. You pay to run these ads. The novice must take care or they could use their ad-spend money up pretty quickly.

Link Tracking & Link Cloaking 

Say What?

Have you ever noticed some links have big long awkward looking addresses? This generally means that is an affiliate link, and a lot of people out there just won't click on those 'strange looking links'. I was one of them (ok I thought they were viruses!).

Wealthy Affiliate provides yet another tool, My-Linker. What this does is two-fold. First, it allows you to shorten those nasty looking affiliate links. Secondly, it allows you to actually track WHERE your clicks (when someone clicks on your special affiliate link) and your sales are coming from.

This is extremely useful, as you will be able to work out if clicks are coming from your free methods or your paid methods. Fantastic! Plus you can plug in all the affiliate information there as well, which will save you having to remember it all, or which folder you put them into.

What Is A Turnkey Website or Feeder Website 

I Never Knew Once Either..

These are websites that have already been created, and optimized for Google love. You get to choose which one/s you want to promote, by any methods mentioned before. This saves you the hassle of creating your own landing page too.
