It seems well suited for me as a beginner. I don't have html skills, let alone a website or build one. No product to sell either. Promoting a ready product and get paid commissions for every sale looks more workable. So I figured I could learn to make money online with Affiliate Marketing.

Read a lot of reviews on ebooks pertaining to Affiliate Marketing. At the same time, I was hoping to learn secret to making money online. Then something hilarious happens. I was just fooling around and I did say that I learned my lesson - not to fall for those get-rich programs. Like I said I was just fooling around, I typed on Google search bar "how to become a wealthy affiliate". Honestly, I didn't know there was such a program called Wealthy Affiliate! Honest, really! First impression was - "What a name! Can they be subtler than that!" I was prepared to see another one of those sob stories about the writer and how now he travels the world and owns luxury cars, all this with a few minutes of work a day and hardly lifting his fingers. I'm sure you've seen those kind of sites before.

To my surprise, Wealthy Affiliate opens to a professional looking, well-layout page. No bright yellow highlights and humongous bold text plastered all over. Oh and two cute looking founders too! Kyle and Carson. Cheeky me!

So what did I do next? I search for reviews of Wealthy Affiliate. Yet another surprise, the reviews so far are all good. Still, I'm not about to plunge into it just yet. Search further, just to convince myself even more. The more I read the more I'm convinced that Wealthy Affiliate is a good place to start and 'safe from hyenas'! You know the ones who teach a little but ask you to buy more. Waited a week and finally decided that this is it for me. I believe I have found my ticket to learn how to make money online.

Till today, I have not regretted one bit for joining. Do you know what is the best part of it all? I, for once, understand Internet Marketing! Finally, I understood the concept of Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and learn ways how to make money online. It's so much easier when you have someone or rather a community of marketers, old and new, doing it together with you. Not just any community, but a trusted one. Prior to joining Wealthy Affiliate, I read quite a bit on Internet Marketing. Sometimes the more you read, the more confused you get. There were times when I find myself reading from the middle, without realizing that there is a beginning! It sounds silly I know. But when you first start, getting lost is like a leech. There is no guaranteed methods of preventing leech bites. That is why it is important to get into the right channel. Wealthy Affiliate navigates you to the right channel. You know that confusion always leads to frustration, right? Frustration can de-motivate you and that's the last thing you want when you first start. I certainly had my fair share of frustrations and confusions; I've reached a level higher than Mount Everest!

So how can you help yourself ease this learning curve? Remember the leech I mentioned earlier? What you should do is to avoid leech-infested areas! I mean, you cannot really prevent it so you avoid. But how can you tell which is a leech-infested area (a.k.a. scams)? Not easy I must say. These websites look so legit these days you can't tell the difference. Maybe Wealthy Affiliate is a scam? You're asking that question aren't you? Well, let's look at it this way. Wealthy Affiliate is a membership program which was launched in late 2005. It is surviving till today and in fact growing. Scams do not last that long. They ripped you off your cash quickly and 'close their shop' just as quick too before they are exposed. At Wealthy Affiliate members are maintaining their subscriptions for a reason. It's Legitimate and It Works! They learn how to make money online, gotten good results, benefited and still benefiting from Wealthy Affiliate. I did myself a favor by joining Wealthy Affiliate. I am one satisfied customer! ...and still choose to remain as a member of Wealthy Affiliate!

Wealthy Affiliate is an online 'university' for Internet Marketers. Members go through an 8 Week Action Plan. This plan aims to guide you towards becoming an Internet Marketer. It takes you step-by-step, ensuring that you fully comprehend the concept of Internet Marketing. The tutorials come with 'Task of the Week', so every learning stage is put to practice. This is important because reading about 'how to do so and so' always seems easier than the actual execution of the task itself.

Free! That's right. It's a website builder, easy to use even for idiots like me! You don't need to know what I call fancy html to get a website up and running. This Squidoo article for instance. I use some basic html to insert pictures, bold & italicize the font, do hyperlinks (text links), embed youtube videos... if you asked me what these html codes are, I honestly cannot remember most of it. What I do is copy these html codes on TextEdit or Notepad and saved it on my computer. Each time I need to use them, I pick the function I want then copy and paste. Voila! Where do I get these html codes? Easy. Do a Google search or just go to the Forum at Wealthy Affiliate, do a search on basic html and you'll get your answers. Simple enough, yes?
