It started with Myspace, then Youtube, our favorite Squidoo, and now its the social bookmarking. All fall into the Web 2.0 genre. The use of these sites for SEO purposes and simply to get massive exposure to websites has become the latest trend in internet marketing.

I have seen all kinds of ebooks that outline techniques and software designed to "game" Myspace. There is now a program that lets you brand your information on other peoples Youtube videos.

The reason that so much time and effort is being put into these kinds of programs is because of the power of Web 2.0. For instance, Google absolutely loves Web 2.0 sites. Go to Google and search for Web 2.0 Submitter. At the time of writing 7/29/07, my Squidoo lens is ranked #4. My Hub page, which is only 3 days old, is ranked #7!

I realize that the competition for this keyword is not great but there are still 778,000 results. I didn't use any brackets or quotes to narrow the search. If you do an exact search "Web 2.0 Submitter", with quotes, the Hub page moves up to #6 spot. The #8 spot refers to stories on Netscape which is a submission I made with Web 2.0 Submitter.

Move on to the second page. #11 and #12 are both links to my page. A submitted story to Netscape and a submitted post from my Traffic Hits Multiplier blog respectively. #15, #18, #26, #27, and #30 are all links to my website created by using Web 2.0 Submitter in conjunction with Squidoo and Hub pages. That is 10 spots in the top 30 with 2 on the first page of results. Not bad huh?

Here is the main reason why this method is so effective. Google puts a lot of emphasis on one way back links to determine page rank. Not only does Google look at the number of links but there is a transfer of page rank that occurs as well.

Netscape has a page rank of 9! Digg, Stumble Upon, and Technorati are page rank 8's. Reddit has a 7 page rank and Squidoo is a 6. If you have the google tool bar installed you can see the page ranking of every site you visit. You will notice that sites above 4 are rare. That is the key to the power of Web 2.0 Submitter.

Qassia...the mother of all websites.

There is a new Web 2.0 site called Qassia that is claiming to be the fastest growing website ever. I don't know if this claim is true but I can believe it. The site is easy and fun to use. You get to advertise your websites and blogs by earning credits.

Credits are earned by submitting and rating "intel" which are articles and/or snippets of information. When you submit intel, the amount of credits you earn are determined by how other members score your submission. You can also earn credits by referring members and by grading other people's intel.

Credits are not the only thing you can earn. In your profile there is a place to add your
Google adsense account number. When you submit intel, you earn 100% of the adsense earned from your page when it is viewed. Not just a percentage, you get all of it!
