After the first introduction of Web 2.0 word at O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004 the term Web 1.0 born. Till the conference non of the word Web 1.0 or Web 2.0 exist.
The world wide web has Web1.0 era, till 1994 - 2004. And after that web2.0 revolution become. Its not stop here, Web 3.0 era has been started in today's online world. Now the understanding between this two web world is really necessary and some time confusing. The evolution is not related to software/technology or a new programming.
Web 2.0 - a new version of the web
Web 2.0 is a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but to changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the Web.
According to Tim O'Reilly:
"Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform."
There are lots of way to differentiate between Web 1 and Web 2 like Internet speed, application, user and their contribution, number of webpage and other.
