So here are some reasons why you should chose particular colours for your website.
BLACK: Is a colour which represents elegance, boldness, power and authority but on the downside can also represent evil and death. It is the worse colour to use as a background so should be used sparingly or for text.
WHITE: Is a colour which represents purity, truthfulness, cleanliness and devotion. There are no negative emotions attached to the colour white. It is an excellent colour for framing your pages as it draws the eye in.
RED: Is a colour which represents strength, excitement, passion, speed and also danger. Emotionally it is a very intense colour and has the ability to immediately increase heart rate. It is a magnetic colour and can be used to entice people back to your website. It is a great colour to use for headlines. It is also a colour associated with hunger or food hence the reason why many fast food outlets use red in their signage.
BLUE:Is the second most popular colour in the world and is synonymous with boys or males. It represents security, reliability, faithfulness and creates trust. It is an ideal colour to use for anything to do with Finance which is why it is often used on areas of websites where personal information or credit card details are obtained.

It is an excellent colour to use on Health and Wellness sites.
BROWN: Represents effectiveness, politeness, helpfulness and richness but is not a colour that shows up well on websites so should not be used.
GREY: Is a colour which represents authority and earnestness. It is traditional and conservative. It is a great secondary colour but use sparingly. It is a hard colour to get to show up properly on-line.

YELLOW: Represents sunshine, warmth and cheer but as we all know it is also the colour of jealousy. Visually, it is a very overpowering colour so use it sparingly to avoid tiring your visitor out. It is an excellent colour for highlighting or around a call to action. It is also ideal for using in conjunction with children's products.
