Web Design Definition & History
Web design is the skill of creating presentations of content (usually hypertext or hypermedia) that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web, by way of a Web browser or other Web-enabled software like Internet television clients, microblogging clients and RSS readers.
The process of designing Web pages, Web sites, Web applications or multimedia for the Web may utilize multiple disciplines, such as animation, authoring, communication design, corporate identity, graphic design, human-computer interaction, information architecture, interaction design, marketing, photography, search engine optimization and typography.
* Markup languages (such as HTML, XHTML and XML)
* Style sheet languages (such as CSS and XSL)
* Client-side scripting (such as JavaScript and VBScript)
* Server-side scripting (such as PHP and ASP)
* Database technologies (such as MySQL)
* Multimedia technologies (such as Flash and Silverlight)
Web pages and Web sites can be static pages, or can be programmed to be dynamic pages that automatically adapt content or visual appearance depending on a variety of factors, such as input from the end-user, input from the Webmaster or changes in the computing environment (such as the site's associated database having been modified).
With growing specialization within communication design and information technology fields, there is a strong tendency to draw a clear line between web design specifically for web pages and web development for the overall logistics of all web-based services.

Video Sites in a Box - a Product that is actually is as easy to use as it Claims
I just got this product last night and I literally put up 8 video sites in less than two hours. I cannot believe how easy this is! I buy products and they usually say "this is the easiest script ever....build sites in a millisecond..." and they all sound so great. The problem is, when I try building sites with these products, its much more complicated than it sounds. Nothing seems to work right, there are little bugs, and I spend hours on something that is supposed to be so easy.NOT THIS TIME! This product really is as easy as it sounds. I love it!!
YouTube Video Sites In A Box Will Let You:
- Add niche specific video sections to any of your existing websites!
- Just decide on the keywords and you have a professional video streaming website,
boasting 100s' of entertaining videos in 15minutes or less!
- Template based dynamic pages allows you to quickly edit your video section to
match any of your present websites!
Try it for yourself and you'll see what I mean.

Good Design Practices
Your website is where your business resides -- it's like the headquarters of an offline company. Hence, it's important to practice good design principles to make sure your site reaches out to the maximum number of visitors and sells to as many people as possible.Make sure you have clear directions on the navigation of your website. The navigation menu should be uncluttered and concise so that visitors can navigate around your website without getting lost.
Reduce the number of images on your website. They make your site load slowly and too many images are really unnecessary. If you think images are essential on your site, make sure you optimize them using image editing programs so that they have a minimal file size.
Keep your text paragraphs at a reasonable length. If a paragraph is too long, split it into seperate paragraphs so that the text blocks won't be too big. This is important because a block of text that is too large will deter visitors from reading your content.
Make sure your website complies to web standards at www.w3.org and make sure they are cross-browser compatible. If your website looks great in Internet Explorer but breaks horribly in Firefox and Opera, you will lose out on a lot of prospective visitors.
Avoid using scripting languages on your site unless it is absolutely necessary. Use scripting languages to handle or manipulate data, not to create visual effects on your website. Heavy scripts slow down the loading time of your site and even crash some browsers. Also, scripts are not supported across all browsers, so some visitors might miss important information because of that.
Use CSS to style your page content because it saves alot of work by styling all elements on your website in one go.
