Memes, viral videos, web humor, email jokes: when are they spam, and when are they genious?

I've been a connoisseur of the weird, silly and funny stuff on the internet for more than 15 years. A lot of it is pointless. A lot of it tickles one person's funny bone and not another's. But there are some that have made thousands and thousands of people laugh or get in trouble with the boss for web browsing on company time.

 They waste our time and they make the web a more amusing place. I give you: WEB FLOTSAM!
