Webkinz World welcomes young children to get engaged in social networking and parents seem to be embracing it. Parents are even getting children as young as preschool aged, involved with these virtual pets that promote social networking with total strangers on the internet.
Virtual pets are nothing new. We have had Furbies, robot dogs, Gigapet and Cabbage Patch dolls (not a pet but the same craze). But none of these encouraged dangerous or unhealthy behaviors as much as the Webkinz. Webkinz are nothing more than an inexpensive plush toy that takes on of life of its own when their Webkinze World online takes shape.

The New Webkinz World Craze to Continue
All indications point to the new Webkinz World craze is going to continue way past the holiday season. Not only for children, adults that were once big beanie baby collectors are now turning to buy Webkinz for there collectables.
Webkinz are nothing more than a fluffy toy pet that seems to come alive at webkinz.com where you build a virtual world for your virtual pet. Getting your hands on these pets, however, seems to be the main struggle. Webkinz animals are only sold in specialty stores such as Hallmark stores and fly off the selves as fast as they come in.
