Wanna Create Your Own Website?

There is a great deal to learn about this subject. I know it well enough to do it, but not necessarily well enough to explain it to anyone.

I do however, know of some great resources that I have used to design my websites. That's mainly what I am sharing with this lens, My Resources.

If you already know this stuff, you're probably wasting your time here.

This is really more intended for those who haven't yet built a website, but might be interested in going beyond Blogger or Squidoo.

If you've "Been There, Done That", your supporting comments are most welcome.

Why Should I Buy Anything From You?

Wouldn't it be great if all we had to do was share information all day long and not charge a penny for it?

Sounds good, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, there are very few who can, and even fewer who will, do this.
Most have not become successful enough to work for themselves.
Those who have, typically don't give much of anything away.
That's part of their key to succeeding.

Don't believe that it's your responsibility to share everything you know without profiting from it.

If you are willing to put forth the effort, you most certainly are entitled to the rewards that may come with it!

But I Don't Even Know What HTML Is!

Hyper Text Markup Language

The website building software that is available these days can save you a tremendous amount of time.

You can create some of the most professional looking websites on the internet without knowing how it's coded.

This What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get software is referred to as WYSIWYG (pronounced whiz-e-wig).

More and more, these visual editors are becoming the preferred method to create a website.

Most WYSIWYG editors will let you switch back and forth (visual to HTML).
This will allow you to build your own website, and learn the HTML coding at the same time, kind of like on-the-job training.

If you would rather learn how to hand code HTML, there are some good sites.

Website Design Software and HTML Editors

HTML Can Actually Be Written With Notepad!

Eventually, Notepad may be all you need.
Until then, you should find software that you can get along with.
Nvu and SeaMonkey are both free.
Free is usually a good place to start.
I like (and use) Coffee Cup as a paid-for software.

I built my first website over a year ago. I've built 2 more since then and maintain a blog. The first I ever heard of HTML was when I joined squidoo.
Great Lens.
