Design : a very underestimated topic that it is, the design of the website is almost always overlooked. they tend to argue that google and yahoo dont have a great design. They do well. But not much people realize that the design in yahoo and google are BAD butbut people coming in may not be looking at the design, they look at the functions. Your site has to do the same . Focus on the content and functionalities while you can leave the design to be sober.
Faster Access : Gaudy flash and Running around animations may look cute, but they are old fashioned. Today animation has gone a long way and it looks great only when its really required. So keep away from Animations as much as possible
Better REach : Its important that you always have one thing in place. Your website should be known for a few things which its doing. And they should be know in the industry you are working in. So Get your links on every place Legally and ETHICALLY possible.
Social Marketing and Web 2.0 : This concept which is new yet so old has increased value to a log of websites. Today there are atleast a 1000 Social networking websites and other social website online. This includes Squidoo the page you are looking at , Blogs , forums, Digg and other related services. Using these Free services Constantly and effectively could drive traffic to your website and increase value drastically.
