Website owners need constant traffic to be successful. It's not enough to open up your website for business and wait for others to find it.

When I first began to build websites for clients six years ago, Internet Marketing was just beginning to take off. I didn't always know what I know now about the importance of marketing. Now I spend time helping educate my clients about the necessity of marketing through the Internet.

Places on the web that you visit which help you connect to other people are called social networking sites. For example, Squidoo, MySpace and Ryze are all social networking sites.

Some of you might be familiar with or have a website or blog. To me, blogs were the beginning of social media and networking because they allowed others to read and remark on what I was writing. Six months ago you would have found me just on my blog and website, but today, you will find me all over the Internet!

There are litterally thousands of sites you can join to begin your social networking experience. But you don't need to join them all to start to make the Internet work for you and help grow your business. With just a few simple resources, you can begin to attract 5, 10 or even double the amount of people to your website that you receive each day.

Sound Difficult? IT'S NOT.

You can learn to do this (just as I did) affordably and while having FUN.

Marketing across the Internet will continue to expand and unfold in the coming years as more people like you and me learn to use social media to get the word out about our expertise.
