I am not like other marketers....

Of course you would rather get free advertising, but you may find that it pays off to put some money into your marketing strategy. By placing ads or banners in an appropriate place, you may get that target market you have been after.

If you are nervous about committing to a paid advertisement that may not get results, you might want to consider using cost per click strategies.

You said, " You sent an offer for a book with a title "Why Start Your Own On-Line Business" to people on your list who were attracted to you in the first place, because you write about creating profits online, not specifically about starting a business. Most of them already have a business of some sort online anyway"

Duh!! I felt like a rookie again.....my headline did not attract the people I was most interested in communicating with.....my own list of business builders.

So even though the book really is a step by step guide to creating profits online for people who are already business builders or product users in the internet marketing niche like myself, I had made a critical mistake. Yes the content of book would certainly have helped those people thinking about starting an online business, but......

I realized I had crafted a book title that would most likely appeal to people who may not already have an online business, and sent it to a list of people that are already in the internet marketing business, in some way or other

You were right when you said "Read your own book again, you know that to attract people either to your initial ad copy, or even more importantly to your existing list you must ALWAYS pay special attention to the sales copy headline or subject line in your emails."

I had made a mistake, and not taken enough time to make sure my title was correct for the target audience.

Remember to always target your titles to the people you are actually trying to attract...its so easy to miss the mark no matter how experienced you think you are!

All you need is a idea, an affiliate program or two, maybe a product or a website, and get going, and start making money right away

First, you better change your thinking fast to the right priority or you will experience the anxiety every month of not having enough cash to cover your advertising expenses, never mind the value of your time.

-> How to get quality traffic
-> How to build a list fast
-> How to create profits online

Only when you have a written down checklist that includes activities to get to all three of these steps weekly do you have beginning of the plan?

Without the first step of getting QUALITY traffic, the other two real don't matter, so for now you need to implement a written down schedule of weekly activity to generate quality web site traffic. Avoid those offers of cheap traffic that we all get.

Article Marketing - write articles that are of interest and real value to your target audience, include a link in the resource box to your web site, submit your articles to the various article directories - takes time, no cash

Joint Venture - Develop a relationship with other marketers, and send their offer to your list, and ask them to send your offer to their list - you need a list first

Press Releases - Write an announcement about your newest product, e-book, or marketing venture. Submit it to a variety of press release distributors. Think of it not as advertising but an announcement first and foremost. - you need a new something to announce - use your imagination.

SEO - Search Engine Optimization - Do not sweat bullets about SEO - learn the basics of sales copywriting, focus on the web page content for eyeballs, and you will learn to place your keywords strategically to satisfy the search engines. Create links to your web pages from other quality sites, I use the links in articles to do this. - You need your own website contact information capture page, plain and simple, if you are planning on generating quality web site traffic from links.

Until you get a written plan and weekly checklist for web site traffic generation there are no possibilities to create profits online, because you will continue to jump on every new bandwagon that comes along every few days.
