Have a "Green" Wedding - Save Some Green With Green Wedding Favors and Centerpieces
You can "be green" and environmentally sensitive by giving green wedding favors and using green centerpieces at your wedding.
Think Trees for centerpieces - small saplings in pretty pots - After your reception, one guest from the table (maybe a "contest" winner) can plant the tree for years of enjoyment. Or the trees can be planted by the couple at a park to make an environmental statement.
Small deciduous trees (magnolias, oaks, etc) may not have many branches, so you may want to select an evergreen that is indigenous to the region of the country where the wedding is. For example, Colorado blue spruce would be appropriate for a Colorado wedding.
Think Seed Packets, in clay pots, for favors - You can paint the pots to coordinate with your wedding decor or personalize them with Your New Monogram (Bride's first initial, Groom's first initial, Surname initial). However, standard terra cotta will lend a more earthy feel.

That will save on the use of energy
