A wedding day is a wonderful day but can be extremely expensive. One of the biggest outlays is certainly on the flower arranging and florist, but it's such an important thing to get right.

Well how about doing your own flowers? It's not as difficult as you might think, and many of the techniques, once learned, can be used to create stunning, professional looking arrangements. Anything from the bouqets that the bride and bridesmaids hold through to a stunning centrepiece.

Not only that, it's great fun, very rewarding and you can even include some of your friends in the process.

Well some friends and I recently did all the flowers for one of our friends daughters wedding. I think at first she was a little worried at the thought of us doing it, but once I had shown her a few examples of the types of arrangements we could do she was very happy and also it made us all feel like we were contributing to her big day.

It was great fun too and a real team effort. It was so nice to hear people gasp as they walked into the ceremony and the bride and bridesmaid looked absolutely stunning. What a Fabulous day!
