The average cost of a wedding is at an all time high. An average wedding can now cost tens of thousands of dollars and many couples find it financial challenging.
However, organizing a wedding on a budget can be done, so let's spark a few ideas to get going with your wedding plans.
Ask family members and friends to take photos of the reception - most will be more than happy to do this. An alternative would be to go one step further and not bother with the expense of a photographer at all. Why not ask your guests to take photographs of the occasion all day?
When looking at other areas where money can be saved, do not overlook wedding stationery. Invitations for example, do not have to be taken to a printer when they can be produced by anyone reasonably competent with a home computer. With sophisticated customization tools you'll be able to enter your own text and preview it before you print.
Wedding flowers can be another expensive outlay, especially with the alternatives on offer. Why not buy wholesale flowers? Or pick flowers from your garden and buy plain gold or white gold bands as these are the least costly!
If possible, ask a friend to make your wedding cake for you. Cakes do not have to be the traditional fruit so try a sponge cake with a chocolate flavor filling for example. A friend's car could be used as the ransportation to the ceremony to make further savings.
Organizing a wedding on a budget is possible without the wedding being cost driven. The point is that guests enjoy the day!

While wedding favors may be one of the simplest parts of planning a wedding, they can also be the part which is often left until the last minute. Don't worry if you can't think of anything as there is a whole industry set up supplying treats for guests. Favors do not have to be stressful part of organizing the special day when there are other more important things that require your time.
Flowers are undoubtedly one easy wedding favor you can give to your guests. The preparation for flowers is almost non existent other than deciding on what flowers to use which can be ordered reasonably close to the big day.
A popular choice is a red rose and as a symbol of love which is very fitting at a reception. You can simply purchase one for each guest and have a member of the catering staff, a friend or family member place one rose across each place setting after the tables have been set for the wedding reception.
Unfortunately flowers do no appeal to everyone, but with three in every four receptions using candy, this is an easy wedding favor that will. However, there is an even easier way to give candy and also help you to save money on centerpieces. This method has been taken from an idea used by families at Christmas and uses a large glass bowl filled with different types of candy.
You can then provide each wedding guest with a small bag and a note encouraging them to enjoy the candy in the centerpiece. This really is easy because each guest can choose whatever candy they like and there isn't a single piece of wrapping in sight.
To give your guests something they can keep why not leave a small picture frame on the table. Often when receptions have large guest lists, wrapping wedding favors can seem like a nightmare so needs to be avoided if possible. Almost all receptions have place names at the tables for the guests so this is an ideal way to present the frame without the need to spend time and more money on wrapping paper which will only be discarded.
An easy wedding favor that might appeal is to have the photographer take a digital picture of each guest and then present it to them at the wedding reception as they arrive. All the photographer needs to do is to have a printer with him so he can give each guest their photo before they leave later in the day. Everyone will appreciate this wedding favor as it is a reminder they can cherish for many years. Many photographers will also have a projector so could arrange a looping slide show of all the photos he had taken of the guests.

A wedding is a ceremony that celebrates the beginning of a marriage or civil union. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. In some countries, cultures and religions, the actual act of marriage begins during the wedding ceremony. In others, the legal act of marriage occurs at the time of signing a marriage license or other legal document, and the wedding is then an opportunity to perform a traditional ceremony and celebrate with friends and family. A woman being married is called a bride, a man called a bridegroom, and after the ceremony they become a wife or a husband, respectively.
Nuptial is the adjective of "wedding". It is used for example in zoology to denote plumage, coloration, behavior, etc related to or occurring in the mating season.
