The Wedding Venue

You have found the perfect groom and you have bought the perfect gown. You are looking forward to a perfect wedding. All you need to find now is the perfect wedding venue as the perfect wedding depends on the perfect venue as well. This is why you should handle the search of a wedding venue like buying a new house. At least, it will be the place where you will receive and care for your friends and relatives on the most memorable day of your life.

Trust Your Instincts

Trust Your InstinctsWhen you come to a specific venue you will have some certain impressions towards this venue. Just trust your instinct. If you can feel some positive vibrations it is already a good start. The same it works the other way, you will automatically know if a particular venue is not the perfect one for you. But still be consistent in selecting the wedding venue and take the following points in consideration as well. Remember, this will be the place where you are going to exchange vows with the man you love. So make sure it feels perfect.

Take Your Time

Take Your TimeDon't hurry up on picking out the perfect wedding venue. It takes time to find the right venue for an important event like a wedding. Best you start early enough, approximately a year before the wedding date. This gives you enough time to make the proper decision and just in case that anything happens you will have enough time to make changes.

Consider The Size

Consider The SizeA very important consideration is the size of the venue. If too small, the wedding will loose its familiarity, but if too big it will be strangled and not comfortable. The size depends basically on the number of guests, so you should have an approximate number in mind of how many people you are going to invite. Try to be as accurate as possible. Planning to invite 200 to 400 guests would not be precise. A difference of 400 persons matters a lot when it comes to the venue size. Also make sure there will be enough space for the dancing area. The more guests are going to attend your wedding, the more space you need to assign as dancing area.

Check The Parking Space

Pleased Wedding GuestsOne complaint you hear frequently from people attending weddings is the deficiency of parking space. Make sure that the wedding venue you will pick out has enough space for all of your guests. Although you might think that parking zone will be the last to think about, but it can make the difference between a pleased and a disgruntled guest.

Know The Restrictions

Know The RestrictionsThere might be restrictions of the wedding venue, so remember to ask about them. You won't be able to hire a band or even to use a sound system, if there are any limitations about the noise. Also there might be time limits at some venues while others allow you to party all through the night. Some venues even have restrictions in decorations. And also make sure that you are allowed to engage your own caterer, florist or decorator as there are venues who have favorite providers and contractors.

Draw A Layout

Wedding DecorationBefore you are going to choose the wedding venue you must have a layout of your wedding, either in your mind or best, drawn on paper. The layout should show where you want the guests to sit, where the reception area will be located and where the dining area. Also think about the dance floor and that you will have enough space for it. Check if the considered venue fits to the layout you have drawn prior.

After many years as a wedding planner, I strongly believe that the right choice of venue is one of the most important aspects of creating a wedding that is personable and memorable. Good job on getting Bride's minds churning and thinking beyond a typical ballroom.
