Wedding Anniversaries have a habit of creeping up on you when you're least expecting them. So here are our top tips for making them easier:

1) Plan Ahead - Use a free reminder service to make sure that you organize something ahead of the date - ideally 8 weeks beforehand. This will give you time to book a good restaurant, organize a weekend break or order a personalized gift without a last minute panic.

2) Keep the Day Free - Your wedding anniversary only happens once a year so don't let anything else get in the way. Your spouse will really appreciate that you've acknowledged the date and made time to celebrate it together.

3) Be Observant - Try and watch out for those little hints as the day approaches and make a note of them if you can. Women usually prefer luxury gifts such as flowers, bath kits or pretty pyjamas. Men might like gadgets or something that ties in with an interest such as golf or outdoor pursuits.

4) Be Creative - Add the personal touch. Prepare a candlelit meal, write a love letter, plaster the fridge with romantic poetry. You don't have to spend a fortune to make an impact.

5) Be Positive - Enjoy a laugh together on the special day. Watch a comedy, share a joke and do something fun - anything that will raise a smile. And try to keep this going for the rest of the year too!
