Casshern Movie - Definitely not the next Matrix.
Some people love Casshern, and I didn't get what was so good about it. It made about as much sense as Once Upon a Time in Mexico and Mortal Kombat 2--other movies that seemed to jump around without making a lot of sense. This movie was such a mess, don't believe all the glowing reviews. See it for yourself (if you must) and let us know if it makes sense to you!
Quick Casshern movie review
Casshern: Director's Cut
Amazon Price: $19.99 (as of 10/06/2008)
The box said it was better than The Matrix. I don't think so. The movie seemed disjointed and hopped around without making a lot of sense. The point of the movie is supposed to be that war is bad, which I agree with, but the movie was just so bizarre and filled with plot holes it didn't do a good job of making any point.

Best Casshern Review
This Casshern Review hits the nail on the head!
"Big, loud, sloppy and dumb, Casshern rates among the worst attempts ever to re-invent a classic comic character. When an entire movie can be stolen by the cameo appearance of a helmet (the original Casshern's, retro-cool headpiece), you know something is horribly awry. "

Christian Obando says:
I rented Casshern because of the picture and the review that promised "better then both Matrix sequels combined. Starting the movie I realized that it was in Japanese. My brother and I got past that surprise relatively easily and thought that for a 2 hour action flick like this, it wouldn't really matter. Could we have been more wrong? As the story began we just sat back in amazement with an occasional, "WTF?!" We just kept telling ourselves that it would get better, as soon as the action started. The story was ridiculous and made no sense. It came from giant pillars of metal falling from the sky shooting purple lighting into a pool of life-extending neo-cells to an army of neo-human zombies making an army of robots. WTF WAS THIS MOVIE!? By the time there was half an hour left we resigned ourselves to the understanding that this movie was incredibly terrible and just decided to finish. When the movie ended by this guy shooting his daughter, (or something like that it really didn't make any sense...) we just sat there. I turned to him and said, "I hate you for renting this movie." If you want to watch it, you might as well rent it and throw it in the microwave for a minute and enjoy the sparks because that will be one thousand times more entertaining then that piece of shit. 0 stars for this movie, which is the worst ever made.

Casshern is one of the worst, along with Mortal Kombat 2, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

I can see why some people don't like it. I think it is a masterpiece of sorts. One of my favourite things was the sound track. It is incredible and fits with the storyline so perfectly. I dont see why people say the storyline is hard to get...i thought it was quite simple really....or maybe i didnt get it lol. Anyway, i think to get this movie you need to watch it in a totally different way to most other movies. Got to say again...the soundtrack is what makes this phenominal. Its the best movie soundtrack - soundtrack not great in its own right but together with the video - - - - it owns.

It would take a lot more to make Casshern one of the worst films ever made. I think people familiar with Japanese story-telling and movies would have a better time with it than those who aren't as knowledgeable.

casshern was a masterpiece of a movie. it was not intended to be strongly action based. the movie is deeply rooted with symbolism of past wars and religious meanings. did you see the american or the japanese release? if you picked casshern up at blockbuster, what you saw was shit. the american dreamworks release cut out 30 minutes of footage that developed the plot and the american subtitles were not correct at all. if you buy the japanese release, you see the tre greatness of the film. it is my favorite movie of all time.

I personally think that Casshern is one of the best movies I've ever seen!
It seems like you just didn't get the point of the movie, like most people!
You can't compare the movie with Once upon a time in Mexico and MK2...it are different things.
You should watch the movie once again..and think while watching it.

These movies aren't good either
If you didn't like Casshern, you might not want to watch these movies that aren't good or don't make a lot of sense either.
