THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CRASH WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM.

I bet you're asking yourself, "What is this nut talking about? Of course, there is such a thing as a crash weight loss program! I've seen so many like LOSE 30 POUNDS IN 30 DAYS…"

Yes, you're absolutely right!

These are usually diets or drugs that get you quick results in extremely short period of time. . . in fact, it happens in some cases but those are atypical cases.

More recently, experts agreed that all it takes is to follow the principles of a healthy diet and regular exercise routine over the long term to put off and stay off those pounds.

Why It's Absolutely Important To Lose Weight?

Two things you must know to lose those unwanted pounds...

Who really cares about shedding those pounds quickly and then putting them back in no time?

If you want to achieve your ideal weight, think long term, think lifetime, rather than think quick, fast or crash weight loss.

What you really need is a change in lifestyle so as to shed those unsightly pounds and enjoy a good life with a healthy body from then on.

I tell all my clients this, "It's absolutely important to lose those unwanted pounds!"

Not just will you look a lot better, but if you're even just 20 pounds overweight, it will cause health problems such as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and diabetes.

These are the biggest killers of human beings in the world. In the United States alone, about 300,000 who lost their lives each year due to obesity. That's absolutely insane as we can easily do something to prevent it!

So, how do you go about losing those unwanted pounds?

FIRST - What's your motivation to lose weight?

- Do you want better health so you can enjoy your life?

- Do you want to simply look better?

- Do you want to avoid these deadly diseases that obesity can cause?

- Do you want to reduce your risk for cancer?

- Do you want to reduce sleep disorder?

- Do you want to reduce the pain of osteoarthritis?

Once you find your motivation, your 'weight loss' journey begins. Reflect upon how much pain or inconvenience your obese condition has caused you.

SECOND - Understand What Causes Weight Gain...

...and design your own weight loss plan

Whether we gain or lose weight boils down to just ONE simple equation:

Energy Intake - Energy Expended = Weight Gain or Loss

Energy Intake here includes both food and drinks we take gives us the energy we need to live, to work, to play.

So, the key here is to know:

- what foods there are

- which food has less (and more) calories

- how much to eat

- when to eat

- how often to eat

Energy Expended is actually the amount of energy we expend when we work, play, walk, jog, run, swim, or even breathe.

Likewise, the key here is to know:

- what activities burn more energy

- what causes a higher metabolism

- how often to exercise

Thus, if there is a surplus of energy at the end of a day, we gain weight and vice versa.

To lose weight the natural way is to combine the use of both diet and exercise...

My TOP 3 Favorite Weight Loss Tips

Enough Water and Activity are the keys to successful weight loss

TIP #1 - DRINK PLENTY OF WATER

Water is absolutely essential to any weight loss program and many people do not drink enough water to start with. Water not only flushes out toxins but make you feel healthier if you drink enough. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water.

Have a glass of water by your bed side so that the moment you wake up in the morning, you can drink a glass of cool water right away. It's a great way to start you day because a glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates your body. So, have your morning coffee or tea but only after a glass of water.

Count each glass of water you drink. Before you realize it, you'd drank 4 to 5 glasses and you'll most likely drink enough water for the day.

Drink a glass of water before each meal and during the meal, keep drinking in between. That helps you eat a smaller portion of your food.

TIP #2 - ADOPT THE HIGHER ENERGY POSITION

I like this tip. When I first found it, I was like, "Oh, whoever thought of it is soooo wise!"

"Walk instead of stand. Stand instead of sit. Sit instead of lying down."

For example, when waiting for a bus or cab, instead of standing, simply stroll up and down the street. That way, you burn up a few more calories. One of my friends used to say that the mighty ocean is made up of droplets of water...it's so true, don't you think?

During the commercial break, take a stand or even walk around instead of just sitting on the couch.

TIP #3 - WALK 10,000 STEPS A DAY!

Some doctors have done some study and advocate this to their weight loss patients. To count those 10,000 steps, of course you don't want to do it manually. Purchase a pedometer or stepometer. (I'll check out a few models for you another time.)

If you drive, park further from the building. This way, you don't need to compete for lots and can get some fresh air while you walk a bit more.

If you use public transport, alight one stop before (or after if you like) and walk to your destination. This way, you burn some calories as well as may save a dime if you alight earlier :-)
