10 Weight Loss Tips

Tip #1: Drink water upon arising: First thing in the morning, drink distilled water, bottled water, or filtered water (not tap water). Drink water throughout the day: Eight glasses is recommended. Water not only removes toxins and metabolites from the body, hydrates the cells but it also helps to remove fat from the body.

Tip #2: Stop drinking soft drinks, fruit juices. There is a lot of calories in these drinks (150 calories per drink). Replacing these by water.

Tip #3: Eat throughout the day: a big breakfast and two other meals, and one or two snacks. This will help you to avoid to get a hungry feeling, and you will eat less.

Tip #4: 7 p.m. cut-off. Give your body a daily "mini fast" from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. to optimize digestion and lose weight. If you must munch late at night, stick to raw veggies or herbal tea.

Tip #5: Avoid overeating and control your portion. If an average person starts eating just 10% less, he will lose about 20 lbs per year without changing his diet.

Tip #6: Do everyday physical activities. Take the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Park your car at the far end of the parking lot. All those activities add up. Take a daily walk for 15 minutes. This exercise alone will help you lose an extra 10 lbs per year.

Tip #7: Eat more fruits and vegetables. They provide great sources for vitamins, essential nutrients and fiber.

Tip #8: Fried foods are high on calories. You will avoid tons of extra calories.

Tip #9: Alcohol is high in calories (about 150 calories per unit); try to limit the amount to one or two drinks per day.

Tip #10: Choosing reduced fat food where and whenever possible will help you to reduce your calorie intake. For dairy products use semi-skimmed or skimmed milk, yogurts and custard.
