Hi, welcome to my lens all about weight loss. You will learn about programs, supplements, meal plans and ways to stay motivated.

There are many weight loss products out there that I am sure you have seen on TV and in ads that clam they will make you lose weight. I will talk about many of these weight loss products and help you make the right choices.

Millions people of people go on diets every year and while some will succeed in losing the weight only about 5% will keep it off.

Dieting has been perceived as cutting calories, carbohydrates, fat and eating food that tastes horrible. I am happy to say that it doesn't have to be this way.

A great diet should be one that you can stick with for life. We need to get through our heads that we should eat to live not live to eat.

When I started diets I would always drop the ball. I learned that starting slow is the way to go. If you have been eating without limits all your life changing it completely overnight is just too much of a shock and will leave you hungry, craving sugar and feeling miserable.

Example: If one drinks 2% milk they could try switching to 1% for a few weeks and then ultimately switch to skim or fat free.

The Many Diets 

Eat to live dont live to eat

A great diet plan starts with great food. Base your meals around lean meats, low fat dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole wheat breads and lots of water.

Here are a few diets that have worked for many people and have proven to show success.


Low Carb Diets

Low carb diets can be great. The basic idea for a low carb program is to get your body to burn mostly fat and preserve lean muscle mass. With low carb diets you are usually allowed to eat as much of what they call "allowed foods" while limiting your carb intake.

Pros: You get to eat when ever your hungry and you can eat until you are satisfied as long as you are eating the "allowed foods".

Cons: The diet is hard at the start because your body needs to rid itself of access carbohydrates. During that time there are intense cravings.

Weight Watchers runs with a point system. Depending on each persons weight and goal weight they will be allowed to eat a certain number of points a week. Its a very easy to follow diet with great success stories.


With the South Beach Diet you get to eat 3, normal sized meals and snack in between. It works in 2 phases. Phase 1 you are eating moderate to high glycemic carbs,lean meats, eggs, fish low fat yogurts etc... In that 1st phase you will see substantial results. Then phase 2 comes into play and you are reintroduced to carbohydrates (less than before you started) and fruits. You will be eating whole grain carbs and carbs low in the glycemic index. This diet is a little harder to follow but I suggest you try this one because it balances everything out and your body does need a little of everything. Its confusing I know but its explained in more detail on their website.

Workout and Lose The Fat. 

Muscle Burns Fat

Alright I know first hand that getting a gym membership can be scary especially if you are uncomfortable with your body.

First off you don't need a gym. Everything you need to lose weight can be done at home.

Cardiovascular Activities
What you want to do is low intensity cardio. A brisk walk or light jog believe it or not burns more calories from fat than someone running as fast as they can.

Muscle Burnes Fat
Lifting weights can and will jump start your metabolism. With a good diet some cardio and weight lifting 2-3 times a week you can achieve a healthy body.

Weight Loss Supplements 

The side kick to your diet.

Supplements can help you lose weight there is no doubt about that. There are so many products though, how are you supposed to know which are good and which are bad.

I only use multi vitamins, omega 3,6,9 and protein. For this reason I will only suggest you take a good multi vitamin, omega 3,6,9 gel caps and protein powder with at least 15 grams of protein per serving.

The vitamins are just good in general they will provide the nutrients you may be lacking.

Omega 3,6,9 help break down bad fats in the body and in your food.

Protein is great. It helps muscles grow and maintain.

There are many other weight loss supplements which i haven't really tried but have shown to help people burn fat and lose weight.

Cleans your Body
This is like a detox. Flush your body and rid yourself of the toxins and fats. Check it out, looks like it could jump start your weight loss.

Growth
This product helps burn fat and increases muscle growth.

I haven't tried any of these products personally but if you want to try out other options I am just letting you know they exist. Let me know how it goes.

Get to it

Now you know the basics. From here what you should do is choose a program that you feel comfortable with and give it a real chance. Read books, start using the knowledge that is out there and get yourself fit.

Remember:

-Eat until satisfied not until full.

-Brisk walks or light cardio burn fat.

-Lift some weights to speed up metabolism and build muscles.

-Keep yourself educated and learn more about being healthy.
