- Low Carb Diets are my least favorite. Some of these diets are so strict that it is impossible to enjoy food at all. Even eating a large apple during the first few weeks of your diet is frowned at. Yes, you lose weight quickly in the first few weeks, but not because of fat loss.
Low Carb diets deplete glycogen (a reserve form of glucose) in our liver and muscles quickly, so most of the initial weight loss is from dehydration and not natural weight loss. Not only is this extremely unhealthy (because glycogen acts as your energy reserve) but is makes it harder to stay active. - While it is important to eat fats in moderation, many of the Low Fat diets take away some of the best tasting food. Fat calories slow the flow of carbohydrates into your system. This controls the release of glycogen and regulates your blood sugar. Ever had a sugar high? Remember the crash afterwards?
- Crash Dieting is another horrible diet method. Yes, it works for as long as you do not eat. This means that you get no energy and no tasty morsels at all. When you do finally eat, you will gain back everything you lost.

- Hang out with children. Kids are the most energetic force I know of, an hour with a 4 year old will give you more exercise and fun than any other activity.
- Spend some time forgetting about losing weight. We often forget that how we think affects what we do. If you spend all your time thinking your overweight, worrying about how hard it is to lose weight, or beating yourself up than you will more than likely find less time to fix the problem. You will have less motivation because you will become hopeless. Losing weight is not hard! Remember it! Losing weight goes hand in hand with living well. Remember how to enjoy yourself in life and your body will change to suit.
- Eat more frequently, slowly, and in smaller quantities. Really enjoy that food, make small portions of healthy and tasty meals and eat them slowly. Savor each bite if you can and really appreciate the meal. Eating more frequent and smaller meals will boost your bodies metabolism. You will not be weighed down with a large meal while you walk, but will have plenty of energy to make it to the next small and tasty portion. This will rid you of those fat reserves quickly and naturally.
