Eating Right
Is more than just nutrition
There are little things you can do to shed some pounds. They don't seem like much, but they've helped me lose 42 pounds.
First, watch how much you eat. I don't just mean over-eating, I mean don't skip meals, either. In fact, instead of 3 meals a day, make it 6 smaller meals.
Portion size does matter. I know people who weigh and measure everything. I don't have time. I put a spoonful of something on my plate, make a fist, and if it covers the food then I'm good. If it is vegetables, I use two fists.
I didn't give up any of my favorite foods like pasta and ice cream. I do limit them, but I refuse to give up my pasta.
Eat slower. Try putting your fork or spoon down in between every bite. Do not eat in front of a TV or computer; savor every bite.
Limit pop or alcohol and drink lots of water. Water is not only good for your appearance, it helps you to feel full.
Do not deny yourself of your favorite foods if they happen to be loaded with calories. Do limit them and you'll see the pounds drop off.

Exercise
is such a dirty word
While you are sitting at your computer, you can lift your legs and hold them for a count of 10.
If you are using the stairs at home, take a minute and do some stair stepping on the first step. Step up and down a few times on the bottom step.
Do a sit up or two getting out of bed in the morning.
Walking from one room to another, raise your knee very high with each step. Or lunge with each step.
They may sound small, but something is better than nothing.
