How do we know which news is weird and which isn't? Weird news stories are usually not your ordinary news that occurs daily. They may be funny and oftentimes bizarre; they may range from the most outlandish to the silliest stories. Sometimes though, these weird stories may not be true at all.

Let me site two examples of news stories and let's see if you can determine which one can be categorized under odd news stories. "Drunken man drives BMW to work, caught by cops" or "Drunken man drives backwards to work and still outruns cops". The second one would really catch your attention since it isn't your everyday headline.

Why is there a demand for these crazy news stories? Well first of all people want to be entertained. These types of stories are really entertaining and sometimes creative. Sometimes, people read these stories to relieve stress. Personally, I am tried of listening to stories bugging us about politics, crimes, and few other redundant broadcast.

Imagine yourself working all day long meeting all those demands and deadlines of your job. At the end of the day you sit back in front of your computer and search the Internet for some interesting stuff. Out pops this website that has a couple of odd news stories, you smile and then you laugh at most of the stories. It really would relieve your stress.

The most successful among all weird news stories so far in my opinion was the radio drama which was aired in October 30, 1938 called War of the Worlds. This radio program which was done by Orson Welles was presented in such a way that it sounded like news broadcast. The show presented to its listeners that a Martian invasion was ongoing. A lot of people actually believed that it was a real news program and panicked.

Time to recheck our knowledge about science. According to experts, alien lifeforms will be having a bad day once they decide to spend their vacation here on Earth. For what reasons? First of all, they must survived Earth's gravity as they enter the atmosphere since terrestrial bodies have different gravitational rate or G's. Remember Newton? He can explain more on this.

Second, alien lifeforms must protect themselves from the immense sun's radiation on Earth. Even us humans suffer from various skin diseases such as cancer due to the sun's radiation how much more aliens who receive a lower amount of the sun's radiation on their planet.

Third reason would be the bacterias. Experts believe that some viruses and bacterias present on Earth can contaminate alien lifeforms. During the first manned moon explorations, astronauts were placed in quarantines the moment they reached Earth in fears that they might carry bacterias populating on the moon. Now Martians should be aware of these.

With the advances made in technology nowadays, we don't have to rely on the TV or the radio to get our crazy news stories fix. The Internet pretty much like does the job in spreading out a lot of these stories. Not only are the stories the selling point, but the pictures that accompany these stories as well.

An odd news stories that occurs in Ohio which will be posted on the Internet can immediately be read and viewed by someone in Spain and soon be shared by other millions of Internet users world wide.
