Interesting gift ideas

So the holidays are coming up and I'm sure everyone has a list of people they need to get things. This can be an especially stressful time for anyone and deciding what to get someone shouldn't make your hair fall out. Yeah, you could buy your dad a pair of socks or some dvds, or maybe get your mom that gift certificate to a spa or nice resteraunt, but you did all that last year. It's time to mix things up a little bit. Time to bring an unexpected smile or chuckle to the christmas tree.

The following are a few crazy and weird gift ideas that I have found that would lighten up the holiday season a little bit. I will be adding on to this when I find more, so if you know of anything, don't be afraid to leave me a comment with a suggestion and I will review it and add it to the list.

Beer Belly

This little ingenious device, dubbed the 'Beer Belly', is a cheapskate/alcoholics dream machine.

Basically this contraption is a stealth beverage system that enables you to sneak a drink in anywhere (preferably alcohol). Constructed using 'top quality' materials, this device slings onto the users stomach area and is held in place by straps in the back. The perpetrator can then load his choice of 80 ounces of his beverage of choice, both hot or cold, and put a shirt on and pretend like he has a unborn in the works. Then covertly sip the drink through the camel back like straw or pour it into a cup.

I must say, when I saw this I was amazed. This is truly a unique device, and at $34.95, it literally pays for itself. Alcohol at sporting events is ridiculously priced, so just fill this bad boy up before the game and prepare to be drinking your beverage of choice at a super discounted price.

PRICE- $34.95

Buy Land on the Moon

Earth is getting boring.

This isn't a new one but it sure is out there (literally). Make your loved ones holiday season by surprising then with a land deed to some property on the moon (or other planets). That's right, for a small price, you can purchase land on other planets. How you will get there to claim it (assuming there aren't already beings living there), I have no idea, but it's the thought that counts.

Similar to naming a star, there are a few sites that offer this service and all pretty much give you the same thing: certificate, map, letters, and miscellaneous information about your purchase.

PRICE- Ranging from $20 - $200

Zolipop!

Got bad bread? Give this guy a try.

This one might not be good for children, but will sure raise some eyebrows. So what is it? The zolipop (also known as smellkiller) is a stainless steel 'lollipop' that neutralizes bad odors in the mouth when sucked on. So lets say you at some garlic bread or maybe a few onions and your breath is kickin, bust out the zolipop (thanks to it's handy dandy lanyard key chain), suck it for a little and WALLAH! No more bad breath. Honestly, I can't say wether or not it works for sure but it sure would be an interesting present, especially if it was from a secret Santa to someone with hygiene problems.

PRICE- $13.00 available in red and blue

Clocky

The alarm clock that makes you get up to turn it off.

Finally an alarm that that will get up even the most stubborn of people.Don't think for a minute that this alarm clock is like your ordinary one because it's not. This device has two giant wheels on the side of it, and when the alarm goes off it begins to roll away! That's right, it will roll right off your table and begin to travel like a madman wherever it can, forcing the sleeper to get physically get up and chase it down in order to turn it off (or let it keep beeping).

Developed by an MIT student, Clocky wasn't meant to be what it is now. The student had originally done it as a project but was later approached by groups who wanted her to produce it as a retail product. She ended up taking matters into her own hands and started her own company and is now selling the clock on her website.

PRICE- $50 from the official site, $45.00 from Amazon
Available in all white or white and a variety of pastels

Powdered Alcohol

I had always wondered why they never made a powdered alcohol drink. Somewhat like gatorade or koolaid mixes, but with alcohol. I always figured it could be a good idea because you could mix it with whatever you wanted, to whatever strength you desired, and then googled it and saw they already had such a thing!

Finding it in the US will be very hard though. There are a few companies though that are selling this in European nations and a few companies in the US developing a similar products. In europe, Booze2Go and Subyou were two of the larger brands offering their powdered alcohol. Basically you mix the powder with 0.5 liters of fluid and you get an drink with about the same amount of alcohol content as a beer.

Something like this seems like it would attract a lot of kids, and I could totally see it being abused, which might be why it's not in the United States, but companies such as Pulver Spirits have similar products in the works. If you can get your hands on some it sure would make an insanely weird gift idea though.

PRICE- $1-3 a pack (0.5 liters)

Sold by Terror T-Shirt, the t-shirt has fake chest strapped bomb printed on the front, complete with sticks of dynamite, timer, straps, wires and activation button. On the back there is an advertisement for the website. Just one word of advice though, don't think about wearing this to the airport.

Orgonite

It kills aliens!

Call it what you might, there is a lot of talk online about Orgone, or what can be described as a universal life energy that surrounds us and is in everything. Originally discovered By Dr. Wilhelm Reich, it is said to have been used by him to cure his patients of cancer and other illnesses. People have even run cars off of it using a device called a Joe Cell.

Orgonite is said to have a lot of properties, such as being able to ward off evil spirits, cleans the body, protect and even kill aliens and demons. Is this just another form of voodoo? I'll let you be the judge of that but it sure is interesting stuff.

There are websites that sell orgone collecting devices which you can place in your home or car or in your lawn to protect and heal. Ranging in prices depending on size, they can run from $20 to a couple hundred. You can even make your own if you want. This is surely something that will get a good conversation going at the dinner table, so check it out.

PRICE- $20-$200 many different forms of devices sold
