Why I Love Cloverfield in 100 Words or Less

Cloverfield [Theatrical Release]

Amazon Price: (as of 10/10/2008)

I keep a mental list of perfect movies -- not groundbreaking films -- supremely enjoyable movies.

My list includes the likes of Die Hard, Chinatown, E.T., the South Park movie, Fargo, and now, Cloverfield. I had a blast watching this movie! My wife and I were simply riveted. "Blair Witch with a budget", indeed!

OMG! Sorry 4 the mess. LMIRL.

Go ahead, disagree. I dare you.

I say Cloverfield is the best movie ever.

Cloverfield IS the best.

Jamie Messom says:

this is the first ever film i saw where i thought oh my god this is the most under rated movie ever but yet the most effective film ive heard in surround sound. i think that the effect of using a handheld camera instead of a character you get an amazing first-person perspective on the whole film which gives access to the characters own adventure and his own viewing of the great industructable

Hokeysmoke says:

This movie took elements of BW and Godzilla and then surpassed them both!!

I went with a friend and we had the best time!! This is one kick-butt thrillride that just leaves you BEGGING for more-Can't wait until the next installment comes out.

And kudos to J.J. Abrams for what can obnly be described as inspired marketing.

dab282 says:

The Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla. The reason Cloverfield works so much better than The Blair Witch is that it actually has engaging content. The film is intense and the fact that you rarely see the monster makes it even more so, kodos to JJ Abrams for another good project.

Tpico says:

I really liked the movie, It has a personal story, and gives you the feelig of being there, unlike monster movies like Godzilla 2001 where you don't feel related at all. It reminds of the feeling I had after watching another great movie: the Blair Witch Project.

sehient says:

i loved it very much.It was a wonderful experience and very innovative.but i just hoped they could do something to reduce the shakiness of the video

Karen says:

I loved the "ride" and having butterflies in my stomach. I liked seeing what happens from the point of view of the "little people" instead of the hero on the front lines. A brilliantly different movie. I'm recommending it to everyone I know. Cool site, Reg.

blondeheroine says:

Loved it. Like a really good amusement park ride. Have you figured out the connection to "Lost," yet?

Orthia says:

I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. And I'm so glad I'm tolerant of hand-held camera motion, LOL!

Greensky says:

It is one of the best movies I have seen in a LONG time.

Reg_Brittain says:

The best monster "go smash". The best fun. The best way to spend 10 bucks.

Wrong! It's the worst!

Is the shakey-cam, P.O.V.-style presentation of Cloverfield watchable?

No way! I was dizzy and nauseated. I want a comp ticket!

freelief says:

It was really hard to watch. My eyes kept trying to focus when the camera wouldn't.

It is quite watchable, especially in a cineplex room built for big movies. I would see it again!

Hokeysmoke says:

It was for me, it added a lot to the suspense and reality of the piece. But then, I'm not that prone to motion sickness.

leilyn says:

Only if you are faaaaar away from the screen!

MyRejuvederm says:

Fantastic Film!

Karen says:

I'm sensitive to motion and this didn't bother me at all, surprisingly.

Greensky says:

I am going to watch this movie again in the theaters.
