Shawshank Redemption IS the best.

Arizona says:

A truly amazing movie. My husband cried watching this movie. He was incarcerated in this actual prison for many years and it brought back memories.
The acting was outstanding. We own this movie and watch it frequently and it's truly a movie you can never get tired of seeing.

thewishpearl says:

One of the best ever! Keeps the viewers interested right till the end!

Home-Interior-Designer says:

I'd say it's one of my favourite American films. Great story to it and fantastic acting.

Sojourn says:

My ALL TIME favorite movie. I've lost count of how many times I've seen this one. If I'm browsing through TV channels and come across Shawshank, I stop and watch from whatever point I've joined. Can't help it - it never gets old.

JanaMurray says:

Definately one of the best, in my opinion. I need to see it again, thanks for reminding me...

poddys says:

I'm not sure if it is THE BEST, but it's one of the greatest movies. Both Tim Robbins and Morgan Freedman are excellent, as are all the other characters. The casting and directing was great, it's a very enjoyable movie, with it's happy and sad moments, and a great ending too.

JohannTheDog says:

Love this movie! One of my favorite lines? "Get busy livin', or get busy diein'"!

MBWuxi says:

One of my all time favs! DVD is wearing out,I've watch it so much.

jsr54 says:

It's one of my top five. I've been a Morgan Freeman fan since I first saw this one.

TracyVA says:

Excellent movie. I've seen it plenty of times and will definitely watch it again. They don't make movies like this very often anymore!

Wrong! It's the worst!

spunkyduckling says:

I've watched that movie so many times and I really enjoy it! But is it the best ever? Hmm...clearly I've watched it too many times that's why it's the worst now LOL

Spook says:

Just because the other side is getting to long. Personally I have never seen the movie but agree with kab, have never seen Freeman in a bad movie..........yet.

Yes

Sojourn says:

Yup. Nobody can turn a phrase like King and this movie is full of great phrases.

KimGiancaterino says:

It was based on his 1982 short story, 'Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.' The screenplay was credited to director Frank Darabont (along with Stephen King, of course).
