A truly amazing movie. My husband cried watching this movie. He was incarcerated in this actual prison for many years and it brought back memories.
The acting was outstanding. We own this movie and watch it frequently and it's truly a movie you can never get tired of seeing.

I'm not sure if it is THE BEST, but it's one of the greatest movies. Both Tim Robbins and Morgan Freedman are excellent, as are all the other characters. The casting and directing was great, it's a very enjoyable movie, with it's happy and sad moments, and a great ending too.
