One of the MOST captivating cop dramas I've EVER seen! It's got to be my all-time FAVORITE!
Yes, we may LOVE LOVE LOVE The Departed, but we sure HATE HATE HATE what happens to our favorite character!!!
If you've NOT yet seen this amazing cop crime drama, RUN to your local Blockbuster and rent it! Or, better yet -- buy it so that you can watch it over and over to catch those scenes that bear repeating. Did you know, The Departed won 4 Oscars along with another 49 wins and 49 nominations? It's going to take one heck of a movie to beat this one out for a fantastic array of characters and plot as my all-time pick for best cop-crime-drama!

The scoop on The Departed
The Departed is a American crime drama film remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs. The film was directed by Martin Scorsese, written by William Monahan and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin, Ray Winstone, Vera Farmiga and Mark Wahlberg. The film won four Academy Awards at the 79th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and a Best Director win for Scorsese.
This film takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, where notorious Irish Mob boss Francis "Frank" Costello (Nicholson) plants Colin Sullivan (Damon) as an informant within the Massachusetts State Police. Simultaneously, the police assign undercover cop Billy Costigan, Jr. (DiCaprio) to infiltrate Costello's crew. When both sides of the law realize the situation, each man attempts to discover the other's true identity before being found out.

- My actual favorite character, believe it or not, was the Ray Winstone
character! "The Departed" was a straight ahead, gritty crime action
flick much like "LA Confidential" (in my mind at least).
