Earn Money On The Net - Your Recession Beating Business Plan

There are two types of people around at the moment: those that have been affected by the recession in a very real way and those who have had sufficient resources to have weathered the storm. The first group is very large - the second much smaller!

In that first group you would find a variety of "casualties". There would be those who have recently lost their job, or perhaps seen the business they had spent a lifetime building up, go under.

I have friends who are having their house repossessed, while others have seen the property market fall in value so much that they now carry vast amounts of negative equity.

Still others have seen pension funds plummet and savings eroded as they have to call on their capital resources just to live.

So many people are now feeling vast amounts of financial fear and stress - many for the first time in their lives - and this takes a huge toll on family relationships and personal health. None of this is a joke for those unfortunate enough to be so inextricably caught up in it. I used the phrase "Recession Depression" in the title because the current reality can cause an illness every bit as debilitating as any other form of clinical depression.

More money in itself doesn't make people happy - we know that from the many very wealthy people whose lives are train wrecks waiting to happen. But we are not talking about whether someone takes two holidays instead of their usual three! For many people it is now a case of how they feed and clothe their family - and that is altogether different.

For most of us an extra $500 or so a month could make a major difference to our current financial health and be a massive relief to the stress we now face.

About three years ago I made a decision - I was going to make money online! I had heard that many people were making their fortunes on the Internet and thought it sounded cool. Boy was I in for a rude awakening!

Firstly, earning any money online is neither quick nor easy! There is an absolutely massive learning curve that very few people prepare you for and just when you think you've got it cracked someone moves the goal posts, and you have to start learning all over again. The failure rate online is immense - something like 97%. Someone once pointed out to me that this is pretty general statistic across all fields of life - think of all the wanna-be professional sportspeople, actors, models, or entrepreneurs who fall by the wayside. The Internet should be a fairly simple proposition though - so why so high?

Personally I think that the failure rate is set like this deliberately - at any one time you have 97% of people actively looking for their next "opportunity", the one that really is going to make them that fortune. And of course the people marketing the next big con rub their hands together and watch their accounts swell.

I have learned three things while serving what I now see as my apprenticeship online.

Firstly, I do not believe that you can earn money on your own. There is just too much to master and information overload will get you every time! There is a paralysis that comes from too much information and it can stop you doing the very things that you need to do to succeed. If you want to win at this came you need to be part of a successful team - it really is that simple. Join the group that are doing well and let them help you until you can copy and apply what they do exactly.

Secondly, you need the right program. I learned my business skills in the offline world - some would say the real world! There is a basic rule that a business exists to solve problems for people! Businesses have discernable products (or services) that actually help people to do or achieve something!

Unfortunately, MANY of the so-called "businesses" online DON'T follow this model. It can be very difficult to see what the actual product is and how it is really going to help someone. Most of these schemes are really glorified "money -go-rounds" that simply move cash without offering the average person much chance of making anything! This is why I love Affiliate Marketing. You have a real product that people are going to use to solve a problem in their lives!

The third lesson I learned is to do with focus. The Internet is one massive distraction! It is the easiest thing in the world to lose focus and waste hours achieving absolutely nothing! There is an old saying you may have heard:

"The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing"!

This again is where the skills of a good mentor and team leader are going to be worth their weight in gold. The chances are they have already learned this lesson and can help you to avoid the many pitfalls along the way. Focus on the program, follow the plan, and get it done.

These are general comments yes - but essential if you want to succeed with making money on a computer.

Ok, so you decide and take the plunge and run your own home-based Internet Business! Full of enthusiasm you throw yourself into promoting your new business, believing that people will come rushing to beat down your door. And you wait.... and you wait..... and nothing happens. So you maybe tweak this or try that and rinse and repeat! After several weeks of this you throw your hands up in despair and vow never to waste your money on another "business" opportunity!

Unfortunately, this experience is all too common for newbies coming to the Internet. The simple truth is that you cannot do this on your own! There is simply too much to learn and too many contradictory methods of doing it! After nearly 3 years of working online I am now absolutely convinced that the only way anyone is really going to succeed is as part of a genuine TEAM!

I've played a lot of sport in many teams over the years - one characteristic of a good team is that they talk to each other! They communicate, help, support, encourage, motivate, and generally nurture each other. Of course there are also moments of frustration with team mates and times where someone needs to reprimanded - but good teams are far more positive than negative, always and every time.

It is the same with working in your online business. If you are going to succeed you absolutely need the best possible team working beside you. Every person is helping everyone else build their business. It reminds me of the old acronym for TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More!
