The West Country. Southwest England. Wessex
The ancient county of Wessex in Southwest England now consists of the counties of Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall. Craggy coastlines and a very mild climate make this area a favourite tourist destination for British and overseas visitors.

One of the prettiest villages in Cornwall
Where to stay in Fowey (pronounced "Foy")
The Marina Villa Hotel in Fowey is one of the best hotels in this part of the world: Two houses opposite each other on the Esplanade in Fowey each with a few rooms. The house backing onto the harbour has wonderful views from its terrace and restaurant. The rooms are old fashioned, very comfortable and nicely finished, but the real attraction of this wonderful friendly hotel is the restaurant. Absolutely fantastic (and quite expensive when compared to the reasonably priced rooms, but worth every penny)
