My Review of "Whales Passing"
Whales Passing is written by Eve Bunting and she makes you feel as though you are on the the banks of the shores watching the whales with a father and his son. It is beautifully illustrated by Lambert Davis. It is a book that touches my heart every time I read it. Whales Passing is written in the person of the young boy's thoughts about the whales. His thoughts about his father and his mother, and what I found most interesting is his thoughts about what the whales are thinking and saying to one another. I have been moved to emotion and even tears as I have read this book to my granddaughter before she takes a nap. I know that she has happy thoughts as she falls asleep after hearing this story read. She really loves it and the illustrations, too! Whales Passing book is a wonderful gift that my sister sent to to me!

Well worth every dime! A truly wonderful book that will make you feel the the fresh sea air. It will put inside a child's thoughts and feelings as he watches the whales with his dad. The illustrations are so beautiful and well done, that you may feel as though you just experienced seeing whales passing for yourself.

The Killer Whale or Orca Whale is less commonly the Blackfish or Seawolf. It is the largest species of the dolphin family. It is found in all the world's oceans, from the frigid Arctic and Antarctic regions to warm, tropical seas. Killer Whales are predators that feed mostly on fish and marine mammals, including sea lions, seals, walruses and even large whales. They are considered the apex predator of the marine world. The Killer Whale as a whole is not considered to be an endangered species. Wild Killer Whales are usually not considered a threat to humans. There have, however, been isolated reports of captive Killer Whales attacking and, in at least one instance, killing their handlers at marine theme parks.
