Learning How To Grow Your Business With A Blog

Blogging is easy right?

Over 12 million Americans maintain a blog, and more than 57 million Americans read blogs on a regular basis.

Add to that 120,000 new blogs are popping up every day. Which must mean that everyone understands how a blog can impact their business, right?

Maybe not. This lens is created to give people an overview in blogging, how to set up their own blogs, and how to make money for their business using a blog.

And if you don't have a business, maybe it's time you start one. There's never been an easier time.

Get started with a blog.

Free or Pay: Which Is The Best Way To Blog

Blogging is easy. In fact you can get started immediately with a variety of systems online today.

Blogger.com is one of the biggest and most well known blogging systems. If you head over to Blogger, sign up for an account, and you can be up and running in a matter of minutes. Choose from a handful of predesigned templates, and add your graphics and logo. Then start writing.

Wordpress is another system that allows you to easily set up an account, and begin blogging for free immediately. Using their templates, choose a design and start adding your own content.

With free systems, your URL is attached to their system - username.wordpress.com. You also use the shell of the system, meaning Blogger or Wordpress advertisements and links to other blogs will be imbedded into your blog. Because you are using a free system, you have little or no control over these types of links.

Which is why most businesses are choosing a pay system to create a professional look for their businesses.

Blogging services like Typepad make it easy for you to create your own blog using their template-driven system, and allow you to customize it using your graphics, colors and logos. You pay a monthly fee to host the blog and have access to their back end system.

Another option is using a designer - similar to having a site designed. You can customize your blog in any manner you choose, giving it the look and feel of your website and other marketing materials.

Bottom line: If you're going to blog for business, and want to create a professional appearance, create a professional blog and customize it to brand your businesss.
