What Is Thrush
Thrush is a common infection caused by a yeast known as Candida albicans. Candida occurs naturally in the body and can be found in warm moist areas, such as the mouth and genitals. It is usually harmless, however certain changes may occur which causes the Candida to grow rapidly and cause an infection, when this happens it can no longer be kept under control by the immune system or other bacteria in the body.
More Information
Thrush is not a Sexually Transmitted Infection, (STI), because many people already have a small amount of it in their bodies, although it can be picked up from a partner during sex. It is actually more common in men who are not sexually active. However, there are many factors which are more likely to cause an outbreak of Thrush.

* Diabetes
* Using products such as vaginal deodorants, or perfumed soaps or shower gels
