What shows up on a criminal background check

I suppose there are primarily two different reasons that someone would ask this question. Number one they have a criminal past of some sort maybe a misdemeanor or something more serious like a felony charge. Many people want to know the answer to this question because they might be applying for a job or even a position in their community.

The second reason someone might want to know what shows up in a criminal background check is because they are planning on hiring someone for the first time or maybe they are interviewing someone for a community position. Of course they could be dating someone new and just want to make sure they are not dating Lizzy Borden's great, great, great, great grandaughter.

Well let me ask you this. You have heard of this rhyme before right? It's really famous.

Lizzie Borden took an axe
and gave her Mother 40 whacks.
When she saw what she had done
She gave her Father forty-one.

Yes , No, Maybe? Well the Lizzie Borden story was about one of the most famous axe murders in America's history. Would she have shown up in a criminal background check? Yes, but not as a murderer. You see she was never convicted of the crime. Many people feel that she did it. They never even really knew what the murder weapon actually was. They surmized that it was a hatchet found in the barn.

Lizzie's answers to questions about the crime were bizarre. She changed her answers so many times even during the trial that it almost seemed for sure to be her. But they made a very serious mistake when they arrested her they never read her, her rights so they couldn't use a lot of the testimony they had. So what they did have was a lot of circumstantial evidence. But no actual proof. The jury couldn't believe that a school teacher could have committed such a heinious crime. Especially against her own parents. Well her father was her real parent her mother was her step mother. It was a very interesting story. The crime occurred back on August 4th of 1892. As a matter of fact they made a movie about it for tv. I believe Elizabeth Montgomery from the tv series bewitched played her part.

Here is pretty much what shows up on a criminal background check.

Name, Age, Weight, Height, eye color of the individual. Where they were born. Any identifying scars, or marks. Skin tone. Address, City and state. Any known Alias.

The report will then go into the detail of charges found. They will cover the type of charges with a description. Whether or not the individual was convicted. Yes even Misdemeanors are listed. The City, State and county of where the crime was committed. The conviction date and sentencing date. The Disposition and date. Court costs. The arresting agency.

There are other reports that are more comprehensive and will show a person's entire background. There are even reports that will show outstanding warrants.
