Hang your old plates as art! Wall tiles perhaps?

Which should you recycle into art? A square old plate or a round old plate? Well the shape of old plates don't matter because once an old plate is broken that's it. They're old! File the edges of those old plates and glue the backs of them onto your kitchen wall for a cool tile look or for smaller pieces glue them onto borders of picture frames and mirrors. The broken plate itself can be turned into a hanging wall art by attaching a string with glue.

What is a bookplate?

Ever wonder where book plate stickers first originated from? Who invented them? Here is a little history on these personalized name gifts.. its purpose and more.

Frog bookplate sticker labelThe tradition of using bookplates dates back to hundreds of years! About four hundred years ago they were first introduced and overtime became less popular as books became cheaper to produce making them easier to be replaced.

The purpose of bookplates were to claim ownership in that if a book got lost, misplaced, borrowed, and even stolen it is hoped that they would be returned to the respected owner with the aid of the bookplate which contained helpful information such as the book owners name and address.

There is an entire society that can be found online who contains a wealth of information on all you ever wanted to know about bookplates, who used them and who designed these book plate stickers. The only things is that none of these people reused bookplates - well at least to the best of my knowledge.

How to reuse stickers and bookplates?

The following simple easy steps have been adapted from how to use reuse stickers. Book plates are a sticker! And sometimes you may want to reuse it!

Teen kids frog book plate Ever had a beautiful sticker or bookplate stuck in the wrong place? Or maybe you loved the sticker / bookplate so much that you wanted it reused somewhere else but instead it gets ruined when you try to move the sticker? There is actually an easy, quick solution to recycling your bookplates or stickers!

First before you can reuse your stickers again, you simply need to apply Vaseline or some cheap cream to the back of the sticker or bookplate sparingly and evenly. Now you can stick your stickers and bookplates any where you want to and when the time comes for you to reuse those book plates stickers you will be able to do that in a jiffy!

And the sticker lasts even with the Vaseline or cream at the back of it. Guaranteed! Will stick as usual. Upon removing the sticker won't leave any greasy traces behind either so feel free to reuse old stickers bookplates.

These sticker bookplates have a green theme!

They are either green in color, Eco friendly by nature or supportive of recycling and reuse!
